I'm guessing it's an old wired router made out of metal... how much of this is correct?

Not sure if this hardware has been posted, but here's mine! Pretty easy! Missing a PCI bracket, and I scraped off a surface mount chip with a screwdriver on the back trying to get it out. Still works!!! Bought in 2007 used for $50 :P If I ever put together a retro gaming rig with win98 or XP, this would be the card I use :P

Sorry for the size!!!

And here we go, It won't be as easy because there is no cooler on it, those make cards much more identifyable. Why don't you match the PCB for me? :P Of course, its ATi

It's AGP8x only so it can't be a Rage or Mach. There's no PCI-E to AGP bridge chip so it can't be HD series.

The die of the chip is visible so it's not a 7000/VE card.

It's quite clearly a cost cut card so it can't be a 9800.

And since it's not an 8500 then i'd say it's either some cheapo 9k series (such as 9200 or a cut down 9600) or some strange low-end x-series card.
