240gb SSD Kingston V300 VERY CHEAP U.S.

Don't get this SSD. People call this Kingston's ''Bait and Switch''. I got the 120GB version. A newer form of firmware that isn't getting updated actually makes ACTUAL benchmarks, so not atto benchmark, look terrible. The SSD's actually not that great, it does have the advertised speeds on ATTO but that's compressed data and isn't anywhere near real life. You'll get about 160Read, 120Write speeds. It's really bad. :/ The old, taiwanese versions were decent and had the advertised rates, but these, nope.

for that price it might not be too bad, even with awful NAND.

I will stick with their rams for the time being, their SSD's are not that great I've heard.

At least it is better than any hdd. Should be fine for a first time ssd user.

All SSDs perform the same for day-to-day tasks.  Those rated speeds are only for large file transfers.  I have the supposed bad Kingston V300, my computer performs and boots incredibly fast.  My computer goes from Off to On and running programs in 8-10 seconds.  I have the 120GB Kingston V300 that has the "bad" flash.

 

Here is an article conducted by Tom's Hardware that shows the difference between high end SSDs and low end SSDs is negligible. The article is talking about the difference between 3gb/s and 6gb/s sata ports, but throughout the entire article it paints the picture that the difference between the high end SSDs and low end SSDs is not going to be noticeable for daily tasks.

 

Kingston SSDs are perfectly fine.  This is a good price for a good product.

Pretty much I got one and am not very happy with Ming it has like 150 read and write

There's an article explaining it and Linus himself talked about this in a video and doesn't recommend this SSD anymore.

I bought my Crucial M500 for the same price and size, but the M500 is actually decent.
