Back in 2013 or 2014 when I first started watching LTT, I thought Brandon was Linus' son.

The comments about the older platform and PCI-E 4 NVME, make me want future updates on this series.

From everyone, seeing how their upgrades impacted their life over the long term, any changes they have or would make given the chance, and an update on the people!  Rather than move the whole film crew, have people take a few photos or videos of the current state of things.  But this collection of videos is too good not to have a recap and update.

why doesn't anyone take like a cheapo 1 dollar ebay cpu, and get with the remaining Intel budget an amd cpu?

Intel sponsors it and probably would stop if you used the 5k budget on an AMD CPU. They could replace the motherboard and CPU with an AMD one after the fact but there wouldn't be a good reason to for pretty much any of them.

As a photographer I understand the multiple first camera. My first camera was a Nikon point and shoot, which I didn’t use to a full potential as a photographer. That’s why I consider my old canon XTi as my camera.

I am astonished that Linus didn't know right away the 9700k is incompatible with a Z170 board.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Oh Brandon! I've a flashlight here that carries 98+ CRI (R9080) Nichia LEDs in a 2700K flavor. Jealous yet? 😛

That made me do a bit of a double take. Granted, I was more annoyed at the fact that he got the i5-12400 specs flat out wrong.

The 12400 doesn't have any efficiency cores. Linus is out here giving false information about an Intel CPU on an Intel sponsored video...

Brandon finally got his Intel extreme upgrade!

... That doesn't mean he's leaving now, does it? emot-ohdear.png.57e35ebe92316ff60dfb49439efff26e.png

But it was wrong in a positive way so they won't care.

I hated this video. I wanted them to mod the board with the pin hack and the bios mod, it's honestly quite easy nowadays. It would've been a great video. I guess intel wouldn't like that though 😞

They could've modded the z170 to make it compatible w/o issues, it's quite easy now. I'm pissed lol.

You just answered your own comment. This is a Intel sponsored video and there's no way they are going to allow that and besides, you wouldn't want to do that for your friends/relatives who are not tech savvy. You wouldn't want to be the tech support should anything fails in the future.

Nothing will fail, time has tested the Z170 mod. You wouldn't upgrade that platform w/o completely switching it anyways in the future, so really, there wasn't an issue with doing that other than *intel* being a shit company.

They are Audioengine A2 (or A2+) with the DS1 (or DS2) desktop stands!

I have the same speakers, surprised to see Brandon has them too 😄

I loved this setup a lot, does anyone happen to know what desk that is? I really like how it looks slim at the edges but I'm struggling to find one like it

Edit:
Found out by going on his twitter and found him responding to someone else.

For anyone wondering, it's the Hay CPH 10.
