also note as per the latest typing test on my laptop, my accuracy is 69%

Why even use 4 displays? Just use one or two bigger ones. You can get 55" 4K tvs for cheap and that pretty much equals 4x 27" 1080p panels in screen size. That tv is easily run from the igpu of 12400.

Short of a quadro, that's about as cheap as you're going to get. I don't know what's for sale there.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Hey I will probably buy one but my dad wants to see how much the other option will cost

Also does anyone know any cheap displays that can daisy chain?

also I apologise for that thread and what I said I wasn’t thinking before just posting

clarification I apologise for the tone in which in said stuff in the thread not the Actual question itself

Is https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-B660M-A-DDR4 available in India? It supports 4 displays. You can use it with a cheap GPU like GT 1030, T400 or GT 710 that supports another 2 displays

It might but how much does it cost at msrp?

also I already built the pc with another mobo, any idea what I would do with it

edit I found out that the board is somewhere near 13-15k online

So even with the cheapest monitors it still comes out to more

than a 40 inch 4K tv so it’s settled then

A tv costs 30k and even at 5k a monitor which is not realistic it’s already at 33k

The price with the gt710 though is debatable depending on if I can get it for under 10000

Not to mention that the old mobo in the pc

will

be wasted if I go with the Msi board, again I I’ve no idea what I’d do as the seller wouldn’t take a return, I still have the packaging tho so might sell on eBay or something, anyway the tv option seems

the cheapest unless by some miracle I can find the gt710, not to mention that a stand costs 5000 and the gpu is going to be nowhere near 5000 If I can find it

ok so in the picture inserted here:

i have used the worst camera i have, (my old iphone 6+) to click a pic of what happens to the windows when you use the window snap feature to put 4 windows on 1 screen, as you can see, each window is much smaller, and doesn't display nearly as much as it should, now i plan to go to the electronic store today and buy the 4k tv, when  i plug it into the pc, i expect the same problem i am seeing here, is there any way to get the full window in each corner ? like each window gets a 1080p corner on the full 4k display?, is there another software fix for this or something?

Imagine everything i have written in a Linus Voice/ linus tone (Spock live long and prosper gif here ,idk why tho, i guess i just want to say that i like star trek and am waiting for new seasons of the ongoing shows), But seriously, a lot of what i type only makes sense when said in a Linus tone from an older ltt video (circa 2017-2019 & now 2024-onwards) basically before he got a beard and a lot of it should make sense even in a Linus with a beard face.

I wrote a long post but got lost because your comment was merged with your old thread so I'm keeping this simpler.

I explained in a previous post ... if you want your 4 regions to look the same as an actual monitor, the key is to LOOK AT THE PIXEL SIZE.

Depending on size of the panel, the pixel size will be different. You can calculate the size with online calculators : https://www.sven.de/dpi/

1080p:

20.5" : Display size: 17.87" × 10.05" = 179.57in² (45.38cm × 25.53cm = 1158.53cm²) at 107.46 PPI, 0.2364mm dot pitch, 11547 PPI²

22.0" : Display size: 19.17" × 10.79" = 206.81in² (48.7cm × 27.4cm = 1334.28cm²) at 100.13 PPI, 0.2537mm dot pitch, 10026 PPI²

24.0" : Display size: 20.92" × 11.77" = 246.12in² (53.13cm × 29.89cm = 1587.9cm²) at 91.79 PPI, 0.2767mm dot pitch, 8425 PPI²

27.0" Display size: 23.53" × 13.24" = 311.5in² (59.77cm × 33.62cm = 2009.68cm²) at 81.59 PPI, 0.3113mm dot pitch, 6657 PPI²

4K :

32.0" : Display size: 27.89" × 15.69" = 437.55in² (70.84cm × 39.85cm = 2822.93cm²) at 137.68 PPI, 0.1845mm dot pitch, 18956 PPI²

42.5" : Display size: 37.04" × 20.84" = 771.81in² (94.09cm × 52.92cm = 4979.41cm²) at 103.67 PPI, 0.245mm dot pitch, 10747 PPI²

55.0" : Display size: 47.94" × 26.96" = 1292.58in² (121.76cm × 68.49cm = 8339.22cm²) at 80.11 PPI, 0.3171mm dot pitch, 6417 PPI²

So anyway... if your 1080p monitor is 22" and you want the big monitor to feel like 4 such 1080p monitors, you'd want to get a 42.5" monitor, because the pixel size is the closest (0.2537 vs 0.245mm)

If you have a 27" monitor, you'll want a 55" screen, because 0.3113 is closest to 0.3171mm pixel size of the 55" monitors.

If you have a 24" monitor, you'll still want a 55", because the 42.5" has smaller pixels so the actual 4 rectangles will be smaller (just like you experience on your monitor)

As a slightly off topic, the default Windows DPI is 96 - that is, if your monitor is exactly 96 DPI and you open a word document and look at an A4 page at 100% zoom, you could put an A4 page on your screen and exactly cover the area of the Word page on the screen.

Note that it would still not be perfectly identical, unless you configure your taskbar to hide automatically, otherwise the taskbar will take around 40-60 pixels, so your 2160 vertical pixels will actually be around 2100 pixels , so you'll have  4 x  1920 x 1050  screens (approximately) .. basically each small "screen" will have a bit less vertical height.
