Hate Windows 11? Try this.

Windows 11 has a reputation for making a lot of changes that makes life more difficult for Windows 10 users. But there has always been a community effort to make tools that ruin Microsoft’s vision…

Hate windows 11? Just dont use it.

Its not like microsoft is going to force users to download it , then use their machines to seed it to other users , then use shady tatics to install the os without the users permission...... oh wait

Can't quite explain why, but this video felt very short to me. Was surprised to see that it's almost 10 minutes long.

Anyway, I think it would be helpful if we had a list of win11 features/changes that people might hate. I remember when watching the windows 11 previews it had a lot of deal breakers for me. But after watching this video I don't even know if the things I disliked are fixable. But this is mostly my fault because I forgot what I disliked about windows 11.

I am still waiting for the big game changer that will turn Win 10 into a memory.

Going from Win 7 to 10 I got a store I did not want and it added bugs to DirectX 9 that did not allow my games to use all my GPUs vram(for 2 years).  A big deal for a 4k gamer that uses mods.

So what I hate about it is the same I felt about Win 10.

There is nothing here for me.

Because telemtry is the only way theyll know that people dont like something. Theres no other way. Microsoft can only see telemtry data , like matrix code. If only they could read reviews or watch videos or absorb complaints in some other fashion other than telemtry.

I remeber when windows 10 came out and nobody was able to voice their opinions on it at all in any form other than telemtry data. You search youtube for videos from 2015 and nothing comes up becuase moving pictures didnt exist back then.

Because Microsoft CLEARLY goes to great lengths to watch every YouTube video and read every comment and carefully dictates them into a wishlist to add to future updates -.-

The feedback hub MIGHT get some people to notice IF enough people complain about it there but that's about it, telemetry is the EASIEST way for them to gather data about what features are commonly used or not.

Well just about everyone I know who turned off telemetry did so across the board, no disabling privacy stuff and leaving on other things that CAN help them determine what features people like. It's much easier to look at an aggregation of data and say "well only 1% of users seem to be using X so we don't care" compared to "10% of users using X, perhaps we'll experiment or something and see how people react"

I used to catch hell over refusing to move from 7 to 10, I eventually went from 7 to Linux instead.
These same guys would then turn around and start griping about how the latest update broke their machine while at the same time tossing a rope for me to grab and be dragged along with them - I never took it.

It's only as of late a few have finally understood why I refused 10 and now 11 right along with it.

After all the crap that's been with 10, and now they are dropping the bar with 11 to see how much they can make it suck?
It's like MS itself rates things in terms of total suckage - The more the merrier for them and if it doesn't suck enough they just have to improve that feature.....
BTW if they ever release a game based on that title in their store (Total Suckage - The Puckering) I'm not buying.

Looks like an all Linux future for me and I don't mind it.

"If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to ask someone else first"..... Nirvana
"Whadda ya mean I ain't kind? Just not your kind"..... Megadeth
Speaking of things being "All Inclusive", Hell itself is too.

Let me be clear in what I'm saying, commonly used does not equal good BUT when you can't easily see what large groups of people are doing it makes it easier to assume nobody uses a feature and therefor it can more easily be dropped/ignored/etc. There are ways to attempt to provide feedback to Microsoft but the question of if they will ever listen is pretty much "no". The very fact that third party tools like StartAllBack and whatnot are needed SHOULD be a huge wake-up call to Microsoft that they fucked up big time in stripping away user functionality and customization all in the name of whatever the fuck they're calling it these days. A third party tool that brings back old code, makes some possibly dodgy registry edits, etc. should NOT be needed but yet here we are risking security for some very basic customization that shouldn't have gone away to being with.

I think Windows 11 is overall pretty decent BUT I will be very clear in stating what I hate about it and many people have complained on the Feedback Hub about similar things that I agree should not have been removed and Microsoft responded by saying "suck it up lol" in essence and that infuriates me. I can see some features becoming deprecated over time as better ones are developed but right now they're deprecating useful features and functions and not offering anything better and told tons of people who hate it to either use third party tools which could risk security in some form or fashion (not saying all of them are) or deal with a worse experience overall. The fact that they removed something as basic as allowing users to not combine a dozen windows into a single icon on the taskbar is beyond stupid and has actually hampered my productivity a great deal trying to figure out which window of a 8 or 9 I had open I needed to bring back up, until I reverted back to 10 where I had that option again.

Has anyone had success with multiple audio source output? IE being able to play movies to a surround system while having coms and game sound/ music in a headset? I tried when it first came out with the stuff I'm using now on 10 (Ear Trumpet/ Voicemeter potato) but it forced everything to one or the other in 11 with the same programs.

The other killer was not being able to left align the task bar on my left monitor only, so im glad to see people making tools for things that windows should just do, it very much feels like it was built for touchscreen systems that are not capable of all the things that a full desktop is, like if you want to use it for more than just a larger version of your phone its a waste of time

If you have to go through great trouble to "fix" an OS, then perhaps the OS sucks by default, and shouldn't be used?

Yeah, crazy I know.

OMG these area features that I was expecting with windows 10 but never got.

AND THEY ARE FREE or "JUST" 5 DOLLARS FOR?

wtf have they been doing, and is windows 11 more "moddable" then and does this come at a cost of security or is there an easier UI level to mod?

Why are they forcing Edge on us then? Is that also a result of lacking feedback? I don't think that MS will use telemetry data to create a better experience for us. If they wanted that, they could have done it in other ways too.

There is a difference between a companies desired direction and the will of the users too and sometimes those clash and the company will generally forge ahead and drag users kicking and screaming along for better or worse. I never said telemetry was only for the best experience but it can help in some instances when you're looking to cut features or deprecate them to make way for others. Edge is an example of something that needs to fuck off though 😛

~~SNIP~~

I think you should do a whole video on testing Windows 11 (and perhaps comparing vs W10 and W7) telemetry/data gathering, video the output data on camera to see just how much data is being shared showing all the times it communicates with MS, what data is being shared etc.

Then

Stop it, remove W11 ability to data gather and to communicate with MS. Completely rip out all data gathering leaving just a proper OS that works as a foundation for programs to run of.

Considering Linus and Luke are doing (have done) a series on trying out Linux, i think opening the curtain on just much data MS gathers from Windows OS use may encourage more people to try Linux, I know ill be switching OS in the future, either to Linux or a HEAVILY modified and stripped out W10 or 11.

One shouldn't have to modify their OS to make it the way it should be out of the box. I mean, that is, with Windows or Mac. I expect that from Linux, but even then, you can usually find a distro that fits all your needs out of the box. I'm not going to any lengths anymore to try and make Windows great again. I'm out - I'm done. Kiss my ass Microsoft, it's what you've always wanted. I'm moving on to Linux. I'll take anything over this shit anymore. Windows really has become a ripoff of MacOS in so many different ways. I hate both equally now.

would be very sad to see, if microsoft will try to block these additions and then maybe a half baked version by themselves to be added like so many big companies do.
