Dry Ice [Watercooled Define R4/White Merlin SM8/H440 (Never Ending)]

Update:

I have decided on what to do!

I will keep the CaseLabs case and order a white and black H440, then I will do a boss build in that with dual 360s and stuff while I take care of the issues with the Merlin. At a later date, maybe a little while after the H440 or I decide to upgrade my motherboard etc I will do a build in the Merlin. I think that sounds pretty good.

wait... so your not going to do a sm8 build... instead an h440.... well thats a bummer....

Oh, I might try that. Does it seem secure ?

Once it's there for about a day or two the glue and everything really starts to hold on. I had mine there for a few months and it was perfectly fine.

The pictures you take inside make the white look kinda yellow, because you probably are using incandescent lighting. Try changing your camera's white balance to get a 'cool' white, instead of 'warm' :)

is the hard drive fairly quiet or is it audible

Since I used velcro it dampens the sound so it's pretty quiet. It helps if it doesn't touch the side panel. If it does, put some foam or something in there.

@TheNinjaNextDor

So what's the reason for moving from an R4 to the H440? :)

I'm thinking about doing a build in one of those cases when it comes time to upgrade (whenever an affordable 8-core Intel chip comes out).

I have to say, in that Merlin, the build is too sexy. I bet it will look e en cooler in the H440.

Also, when I showed my mom what a watercooled pc looks like, I showed her this build.

BTW an affordable octacore Intel chip is never going to be a thing.

Mostly rad space, also the R4 is pretty trashed so putting it back in there would be pretty hard lol

It will be within the next generation or so. I've got a 3930K, so that's around the max I would be willing to pay. If an 8-core comes out at that price-point, I'd consider that affordable enough.

Update:

The H440 is an INSANE value. A fan controller, four stock fans (3 120 and 1 140), flat sleeved cables, PSU plate, almost fully steel... it's amazing. I love it.

I got both 360s in by just removing a fan on the top and still had a place to mount my HDD properly. My pump is a different story, it won't fit very nicely in, but I think I can clean it up and make it work.
