Anyways, the cooler looks better now with better photos, but I still want to mod a 6990 shroud onto one.

Edit: two slot card, 12in long, I CAN put a 6990 shroud on this! I'll just need to enlarge the hole and dremel out bits for the logo and the tubes.

It is super ugly. Sad too. The reference 290X cooler is sexy, as much as it sucks (pun intended).

if they sell it for around $1000 i can really see it taking off. otherwise its a little impractical.

Price is rumored to be $1500+.

Agreed. That's why I'll be doing some modding with acrylic or the 6990 shroud.

I would guess that the fan on the card can run at low rpm and you can change the fan on the radiator to anything you want. So it could probably be as loud or quiet as you make it.

Personally I find the idea of shelling out on a card such as this and not watercooling the whole thing to be proposterous.

 

I think that hyrbrid cooling is an extremely ugly and impractical solution.

which is always bitched about? i keep forgetting.
nvidia keeps messing up the fans really badly on dual gpu cards now amd is doing it, YOU DONT PUT AXIAL FLOW FANS ON CARDS LIKE THIS! air doesnt exactly pass through pcb's very well..
and if your using a water cooler......why have ANY fan there?
nvidia makes a 2x6gb card so no doubt well be seeing a 2x8gb version of this, should be good for 4K
also you can now decide between 2(maybe 3) of these or 1 titan-z.
