Why would I get phone calls about extending warranty?

Hey.

For past year i was getting phone calls from automated voice that my vehicle warranty is about to expire.

2 things. I dont have drivers license and i dont own a car. The other day I get text message that i had appointment with some surgeon  lol. Just curious why would that happen. Just a scam? Leaked personal data? Stolen identity?

Extended warranty calls are a scam. I've gotten a few before.

Last time I got one I rickrolled them.

 

As for the surgeon? I'm not sure on that front.

It's not leaked personal data or stolen identity. Scammers today send spam messages to every random phone number or all the phone numbers in a select city. When the next call comes report it as scam on truecaller or something and also block the phone number. If a scammer is calling you for this vehicle warrany thing for more than 2 times , it means he's so onto stealing your money so dont attend the call.

All scams. Personally I found if you answer it and then speak with someone just scream extremely loudly into the phone and call dozens of times while also creating group calls with themselves but putting them on hold. I basically get 1 scam call a year or less after I started doing that

It could be a person with the same name as yours.

Or they may have some information about you like name and surname and phone and they're fishing for the other info they'd need to access your credit card / accounts by having you fill warranty forms or by scaring you into calling them and then give out your information.

Ita always different number every other day from florida so i cant block it. I just hung up and no calls for few days and then it starts over again.

I just use the call screening feature on Android to take care of these. Works great. Most of the time, they just hang up.

It's just a scam. Block the number and don't worry about it (unless they specifically mention personal private information about you - then you should probably consult an identity theft expert and sign up for some identity protection services).

just answer and when you get a real person calmly say "this is a business line please don't call this number again" that has knocked down my spam calls greatly. I also blacklist them once i hang up. but since they use a new number every call that really is a waste of time.

My Celly warns me when a spam call comes through. It gives an option to block the number. 

 

So other people's phones not have this feature? Or is it a Samsung thing?

The warranty stuff is definitely robo calls and scammers.

The surgeon thing is likely a wrong number either written by the patient by mistake or dialed by the hospital by mistake.

I just tell them I don't own a car over and over again so the machine records if it can and makes its programer look stupid for not doing research before hand XD. 

I love PC building and gaming. 
REMEMBER botttlenecks can happen at all points of a PC part. Make sure you are at equilibrium. For all parts unless you intend to upgrade at a later point. Also QA Tested AAA Games.

Obviously it's a scam. I've gotten them before and sometimes I'll screw around with them, saying my new car has an oil leak and ask, "What should I do?" and other times, I say I have a luxury car brand/model and they hang up. 

 

Then I love when it asks you to press 1 to speak to an operator, press 2 to be put on the do not call list.
