Adopt a birb here: https://cultofthepartyparrot.com/

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. What I'd like to say: Guys, seriously, could you please stop "coercing" people into making their profile picture an annoying GIF? It's quite infuriating to have every person with this question or a similar profile picture being spammed at by half a dozen of people trying to force them into what they literally call "cult" (by their "official" webpage) or "gang".

The background story behind that is actually a kakapo (one of only very few left, they're parrots) named Sirocco that was made famous by trying to mate with zoologist Mark Carwardine's head. It moved in exactly the same way as the parrot GIFs.

Lmao

Spoiler

Coercing, really? That's how you're gonna put it? It's all in good fun, you should just lighten up.

Nobody is forcing anybody. Jesus, do you really believe the words that are coming out of your mouth? It's supposed to be funny. If you don't want to join, *Gasp* don't join!

if you find it annoying, just let it go. It's really not a big deal when other people decide that they want to be a part of a "gang" and have animated parrots as PFP's together.

Nobody is forcing anyone to do this, okay? I made it of my own free will.

or did I??? dun dun dun!

It's just a bit of fun, calm down.

I'm sure you'll be glad to see that I literally have a userscript running for LTT.com which replaces all animated GIFs with a generic icon, like this:

image.png.851f23462f922443eb85157c147188de.png

for precisely this reason.

Edit: I've made the userscript available for free if anyone else agrees with me and wants the same functionality; if anyone wants the link (and hasn't already picked it up from the other thread I posted it in a few days ago) let me know.

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Okay... And?

I don't have a problem with that. It's all in good fun. you don't like it, you don't have to.

Telling me what I should and shouldn't do is where I have a problem.
