my stock cooler sounds like a dying microwave, should i upgrade

I am using an old intel stock cooler with my 7700 non k and it sounds like an old dying microwave

Not a super good cooler as is, swapping it out would probably be a good idea

 

Maybe something like a gammaxx 400

Well, firstly, intel stock coolers aren't the best. And i bet its ramping up when under load. I'd say go for a new cooler.

Ya ik they arent the best ive just been wondering if its worth upgrading

Worth it if only for the noise upgrade. 7700 (non K) run warm but not terribly hot, especially at low loads.

 

You dont need to spend a lot of money on it either. Anything 120mm tower style below $40 would do well
