Format the drives in NTFS. Then, download Windows 10 from microsoft's website and put it on a USB flash drive.

Else, the computer could think it had the specs of the old build, as the hard drives carried that data still, and it could cause problems with Windows.

If they don't have ANY data linked to Windows and just pictures, videos, etc. then no.

Format your SSD unless it is a completely fresh install that has never been used.

If it's not a completely fresh install, just format the drive and start over.

Glad to help!

Yup reinstall windows to avoid issues. So if you have any data you want to keep back it up to somewhere. If you want to keep the stuff on the other drives I'd advice you to just not plug them in (be it into power or sata or both) when reinstalling windows on the ssd with a windows usb to avoid accidentally wiping them.

my idea is to copy aall youre personal and important data into another hardrive and format the ssd and do a fresh install after installing windows and doing settings connect the harddrive and ta da !!! you have all youre data and have a unused new windows on pc build.

Pls Mark a solution as a solution, would be really helpful.

BTW pls correct me, iam really stoobid at times.

There is another step that EVERYONE is forgetting.  the Cleaning of an SSD.

Cleaning and SSD actually erases everything in a way that is a bit more complicated than just reformatting it, even long-form reformating.

You can do it during the windows install.

Shift + F10 once you get to the install screen of windows.

"Diskpart"

"list disk"

"select disk#" whatever your disk number is

"clean"

"crate partition primary align=1024"

format quick FS=NTFS"

AND while installing, only plug in the SSD that you want to install windows on, otherwise the installer will add data to your other storage drives that will be crucial for loading windows.

It must be true, I read it on the internet...

Don't be afraid to double check my console commands for typos.  I tend to make mistakes.

Surely a "guru of the Techs" understands. Don't dump your threads into General Discussion.
