How to remove streaks on tv?

AlwaysWong

So my stupid ass used a Great Value Glass with ammonia cleaner bottle to clean my new 75' Sony X800H TV, and it came out really bad especially streaks! Fingerprints are gone but streaks will be visible when there is any light point right to the screen. I tried damp microfiber with water and gently rub and circle motion but no work. How do you remove streaks?! Isopropyl alcohol solution no work either.

you might've damaged the coating, never use non-water to clean display surfaces, unless it's tempered glass (even then they might have some coating on top)

NH3 solvated in water also called ammonia water.  If so good luck.

Either you damaged the coating or it is just some nasty residue.

what coating?!

Most displays have some coating on the display to reduce glare and stuff

Sometimes you can even damage the material itself, depending on what it is and what solvent you use

YUP. There's a coating on the panel itself.

Using ammonia or alcohol based cleaning products on a TV is a sure way to destroy that coating.

There should've been a warning on that cleaning bottle to only use it on GLASS and never on a TV at the very least.

You've likely destroyed the anti glare coating. Only use that stuff on GLASS, like your phone.

Typically, you can clean a TV with a dry microfiber cloth. If there's a lot of oily finger fingerprint, for some reason, a barely wet cloth (no water must drip from it if you squeeze it) would do the job.

All in all, stop touching the TV screen.

A TV should at most, only have dust on it.

I thought the display itself has that tech and no need coating.

Ah shit. How to clean fingerprint than?

Can i clean with a microfiber cloth that has 1 small burst shot from water bottle fine? Water will not going to damage the screen and pixel?

i clean my monitors with a cloth lightly damped with water (no drips/runny liquid allowed)

fingerprints should disapear after a few gentle wipes, dont go too hard on it too as u may leave streaks

No, they have coatings on the surface of the actual screen.

I use a drop of liquid dishwashing detergent if the display is really "greasy" after that I wipe the display with a damp cloth until all the detergent is removed.

Sometimes you might blow them into the tight crevices on the frame of the monitor

Which may not be ideal

But it should be fine, otherwise
