100% try to get your hands on an AM4/B450/B550 system instead

Probably some 0% interest credit offers somewhere...

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

It'll be really choppy with that spec. My 4790K and 1080Ti can barely do Resolve 4K editing.

Got a 3950X, 32GB RAM, SAME GPU, flawless and smooth 4k editing. Timeline is extremely responsive, no more frame skips when skimming through the video.

Its hard to say in powerdirector my phone can do 4K

But powerdirector is probably good optimized.

Not sure about about premier pro. You probably can but with a lot of lags.

I Would say ypu could but it will take you a very long time, but Im pretty sure that your PC will crash after a couple of minutes, if you can get an older ryzen 7 or 5 CPU

You'll run out of RAM if you have just 8GB of RAM before your clip has loaded into the timeline. The CPU is also a bit weak.

I'd seriously start saving for a new PC with 32GB of RAM, a decent CPU, at least 6c/12t and a good GPU to back it up.

That said, you're looking at a minimum of about $800 in upgrades.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

I have a 32 core server with 128GB of RAM. Will that work

I think it is using 4x Xeon E7 8 core CPU's

But it is using GT9500 as no other GPU will work in it

Purely for rendering, sure. But premiere won't really use all available cores and leans more heavily on GPU with the latest version, although a fast 6 or 8 core CPU is preferred as well.

What GPU would be best for around £100 UK

Would an RX 580 be good enough

Editing is intensive on both the CPU and GPU so yes, the CPU nad ram are very nice, but the graphics card will hold the system back (and do you just have a 32 core xeon WTF bro)

I have a ryzen 7 3800xt and it takes a long time to render a 1 minute 4k video. I would go for a i7 for 4k rendering or go for a newer generation. If you choose the i5, you should think about overclocking it. Also 4k rendering for me takes up a easy 12 GB of ram (I have 32GB), so you might want to spend more money on the ram rather than the cpu.

A server only needs a cpu and ram. When you mean a sever, like a workstation? But yeah you can get it working by plugging a gpu into the pcie slot on the motherboard. Proaly should pic a oldeer gpu because there is no point in getting a new gpu in a motherboard which doesnt support even pcie gen 3. @Anonymous015

Hi, the motherboard does support Gen 3. It is called HP ML580 G7, a high end server

I plugged the GPU in but there was no video output from it

The GT730 needs no PCI power connectors, rather takes all of it's power from the slots
