If you'd rather have new over used, although I'd assume the 3070 is going to be out of stock at launch with scalpers putting them on ebay.

I think a 2080Ti around $500 with more VRAM than a 3070 is a pretty good deal, and the 3070 so far according to Nvidia is only slightly faster than a 2080Ti.

Agreed.  Once 30 series cards are broadly available, I'll buy the "don't buy the 20 series at all" line.  Until then, it's open season, IMO.

I don't understand what all the whining was about from 2080 owners when the 3080 was announced. How is that different from any other product? Something new always comes out.

And you really had to be out of touch to buy a new video card in the last few months. A September 2020 release date for Ampere was rumored more than a year ago. And we had pics of these cards months ago. You have only yourself to blame.

Kinda hard to predict that a card with significantly better performance with half the price is going to be the next generation of cards -- even if their marketing materials suggested as much back then.  I'm one of the 2080 TI buyers (I bought mine in April) and I don't really care about the 30 series knocking my card down a peg (after all, I'm still going to get like 8+ months of use out of the card before I can even obtain a 30 series card), but I can understand people being salty.  Like, if the 3090 was the one that was 1.5x better for the same price, that would be reasonable.  But the 3080 being SIGNIFICANTLY better than the 2080 TI?  That's nuts, bro.

$25, for a great model EVGA card, over 3070 MSRP, which will sell out instantly and have insane pricing, is “kinda high”? And let’s not forget less VRAM on the 3070 and the fact that nvidias ampere performance claims arent the most accurate. You sound a bit jealous, to be honest.

Insane pricing? It'll be $499, slightly more for AIB variants. That's not insane. You don't know the future, you can't say they'll sell out definitively.

We don't know the performance. Again, would have waited to see. They never stated it was 2x across the board, and anyone that thought that was fact doesn't know how things are marketed. It's also exactly now AMD does it. Jealous? Not at all. You seem like you're an AMD fanboi just waiting for any opportunity to take a shot at NVidia.

I don't think they'll go after the 3070 as hard, there's not as much profit to be had and Nvidia has already put off the launch so that there's more card available.

I imagine scalpers also know that people that shop the middle tier are more likely to just wait until prices return to normal. Doesn't make as much sense to flip them.

Hah, waiting on the 3070 myself actually. I just have a grip on the reality of the situation. You think “2080 ti performance” gpus for $500 arent gonna sell out instantly? Get real. Youre either very stingy with money, or very closed minded, or both to think that 2080 ti wasnt a steal.

The fact you took my statement as an attack on NVIDIA and felt the need to justify their actions through the “yea but they did it too!” mentality actually very much indicates <removed by staff>, ironically.

Hey guys. I have a lightly used EVGA 2080ti FTW3 Ultra Hybrid with all original packaging, invoice and accessories that I bought new in February 2019 with original warranty coverage still available until February 2022. I’m holding out for the 3090 FTW3 Ultra Hybrids or 3090 KPE hopefully at the end of the month, and I will be looking to sell my 2080ti at that time. Any suggestions on a fair price at which to list it? I don’t want to be unrealistic and I really just want to get it into the hands of someone who will actually use it. Thanks!

Thanks Ebony. That sounds fair to me. I was thinking 500-700 range. I’ll likely just list it starting at 500 and see what happens.

Apparently I do and I can. It was very obviously going to happen, don’t see how you couldn’t predict that after the amazing launch of the 3080 and 3090 cards
