TitanFall Download D:

TheNinjaNextDor

So, the TitanFall preload is ready and I am starting to download it. There was a thread a while ago saying it was a "huge download" and speculating that it was (I think) ~34GB. I started the download and! ITS A 50GB DOWNLOAD.

Here's the proof:

Sorry if this is a repost. I thought I would just tell anyone that is buying the game that wow is it on hell of a download.

Edit: It says ~1 hour DL, that is now over 2 hours and climbing.

Update:

34GBs OF AUDIO OMFG. Unpack done, I AM PREPARED FOR TITANFALL :D

I believe it's uncompressed audio files.

I believe the game is sent to a client compressed and decompressed on the fly. That's the reason we've been seeing unreasonably fast download speeds compared to our usual service speeds. Don't get me wrong 50GB is quite large, but I believe the actual amount of data used in the process is only around 20GB.I may be wrong, but I recall reading that somewhere online. Could have even been here on the forum.

As I said, I believe you will end up with 50GB on your drive. The only way to test what I said would be to actually monitor your bandwidth usage.

I really wish one of the popup options before installation would be that you can choose Sound Quality - Normal Quality sound VS Lossless, so you could have 30GB or less normal quality, and 50GB lossless quality.

Some people are going to hold off buying this because of its size...

More choice for the people....is more better :)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I am also downloading Titanfall preload right now, I keep getting download failed, restart origin, this has happened to me more times than I can count.  I am 70% of the way through, and I started today around 1pm, so 8 and a half hours in, still not finished.  What is up with this failed download though?

I kinda bought this game on impulse, I had just purchased a brand new computer, everything new and wanted something to try out.  Saw some videos for this and I was instantly hooked, it looked so cool.  Had I known it wasn't going to contain a single player, and be 50GB I wouldn't have purchased this, they are also wanting you to pay periodically for new maps?  This game seems like a major, major ripoff and imminent failure.  I'll still be playing it seeing as I have already bought it, but it is off to a rocky start to say the least.

I bought it because it's something new. I played the Beta for over 13 hours and I got hooked enough to buy it. It's actually really good.

I keep getting this download failed message.  I will eclipse the 70% mark, but when it fails, it just goes back to around 68-72% then will fail again, and go back to around the same point.  It keeps saying files missing.

Hmmm. I redownloaded origin before my download. Try that?
