USB C as HDMI input in laptops?

dotalover

i know  this feels  like a very stupid question but is  it possible  to use  the USB C port on my Laptop as an HDMI input for lets say devices such as a dvd or a playstation and what not, thinking if  i can use my laptop sccreen as a monitor  of some  sort. genuinely curious

Most laptops don't support using their display ports (HDMI, VGA, DP) for input, so I highly doubt USB-C will be any different.

No, that's not a function of any USB-C specs.

There are just about no laptops that have a display input. The only way to do this would be with a capture card (which does add latency). Why not just use a standard monitor?

there are capture card that uses USB, but those have horrible latency to be used as a normal display, so it's not recommended.

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I think your best option is a capture card
