Low interest in i7-10700k?

So whenever I find YouTube Channels doing Benchmarks on Intel 10th Gen I see i5 and i9. Most of them don't do a review of the i7. Why? What is going on here? Did I miss anything? So far the only things I found out is that intel 10th Gen in General is limited on RAM. But as far as I know does this count for all.

The 9900K is pretty much identical in terms of raw performance, it's just that the 10700K is easier to cool.

because i5 10600/10600k perform same in games. Nobody is going to buy i7 10700 for workloads (because it is worse in those than ryzen 7 3700x/3800XT)

so no point gettin 10700k for games since 10600k performs the same.

and are you talking about 10700 non k? why that is terrible value since you cant oc it. without decent oc you waste a lot of performance.

It's probably sold in small quantities, probably not everywhere.

It's probably not sent to reviewers by Intel, and Youtube reviewers are not gonna go out and BUY the processors just to review.

Even if they'd get the processor for review, it wouldn't make for a good review (so no money from advertising, view count etc) because it's a boring cpu with nothing special... minimal overclocking because no K at the end of the name, plain boring 8 core / 16 threads 65w tdp boringness with boring integrated graphics.

you can stream off the GPU, if you have nvidia then nvenc is a really capable streaming platform.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

for streaming wait for new cpus. Zen 3 from AMD comes in end of the yers. 11th gen from intel comes in 1 month. wiat for those.

but for streaming get ryzen 9 3900x or 3700x. even ryzen 5 3600 will do streaming just fine

If you plan on going with Nvidia for your GPU, you can (and should) just stream using NVENC, instead of x264 encoding. It offers very good quality and takes the load off your CPU.

Unless the 10700 is cheaper than a 10600K, I'd just get the i5. You're getting an unlocked multiplier and I'm pretty sure higher clocks even out of the box, and 12 threads are plenty for gaming.

No, definitely don't do that. I'm just saying that if you see the 9900K in a benchmarking graph, then that's pretty much the 10700K.

The reason most Comet Lake-S reviews focus on the 10600K and 10900K is because those are the CPUs that Intel sent to reviewers at launch.

I do SimRacing where Core-Performance matters more then Cores. I think about Getting RTX3000 Series and a new CPU. I haven't decided yet if AMD or Intel, I think I'm more likely to go Intel because Core-Power. Didn't heared about Intel 11th Gen ... gonna have to research this now

Yeah I want RTX 3000 and definitely going NVENC then. To be fair, usually I buy K but I don't Overclock because I've no idea about Overclocking. i7-Base and Turbo Speeds are higher then i5. Usually I build a PC which has to last 3-5 years. I'm going for 3xWQHD Triple Screen + Streaming (1080p) and/or VR + Streaming. You really think the i5 will be enough for that?

for 3-5years i would get more than 8 core cpu. in 3 years games probably utilize 8 cores already. get i9 10900/10900f if you do not oc. or better get ryzen 9 3900x. They will last longer than 8 core cpus. i do not know how much longer but lets say that a year or two.

The i5 should be enough, though I do get the appeal for 8C/16T more now since that's what the next-gen consoles will be using.

I think you can enable MCE even on non-K chips (basically automated overclocking, which sets all cores to the single-core boost) but that's really not a great overclock per se, since it tends to skyrocket voltages for no reason.

If you're not building now, and are waiting for Ampere GPUs, then by that time we might also have Zen 3 CPUs. If those beat or at least match Intel in gaming performance, that maybe might be a better choice. We'll just have to wait and see.

If you're not building now, and are waiting for Ampere GPUs, then by that time we might also have Zen 3 CPUs. If those beat or at least match Intel in gaming performance, that maybe might be a better choice. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah. Since I'm no Fanboy AMD/Intel I buy what gives me the most for my money and fits best for my needs. My PC is 5 years old. Every single day waiting feels like a month.

I want to make sure I got a full build list for Intel in case Zen 3 won't catch up in gaming performance so I can order on release day of RTX3000 all parts.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but I watch those kind of Benchmarks:

And so far it looks for me that Intel is still Stronger which is the reason I'm tending a little more to Intel right now (Compared to current Ryzen Gen)

May be stronger, by just a bit, but at least with AMD you know there's gonna be at least one more generation of processors on socket AM4, while Intel may change socket yet again, costing you more money to upgrade in the future.

Well I keep my PC 3-5 years, I have to switch socket anyway. That's no point in my case. Like I said, no Fanboy, I get what fits best for me. I also created a thread here to get into AMD more because I always hear people saying "get AMD same power less money" which isn't the case in germany at least.

But as far as I know does this count for all.

if some1 already has a 9900k, the 10700k is a very minimal upgrade, if some1's building new then the 10700k is slightly better than the 9900k in every way.

The 10600k is the best bang for buck gaming cpu, the 10900k is intel's fastest offering atm, it's even binned over the 10700k. So the 10700k is in a slightly weird spot for gamers without a 2080 ti, the 10600k is enough for everything under a 2080S.

You're in EU. Nobody forces you to buy from Germany.  Buy from Amazon.co.uk for example, they'll get the parts within a week if they're in the amazon warehouses in UK.

But that's not really true that intel processors are cheaper. For example

Ryzen 3700x  3.6/4.4  280.70 gbp  at amazon.uk  (310.73 euro) --- 278 euro at mindfactory

Ryzen 3800x 3.9/4.5 290 gbp at amazon.uk (321 euro)  ---- 308 euro at mindfactory

Intel 10700  2.9/4.8 320 gbp at amazon.uk (354 euro) --- 333.70 euro at mindfactory

It's cheaper in Germany than Amazon UK for these particular items, though also keep in mind the different VAT rates (20% in uk , vs 19% in germany) .If you order from UK, Amazon will recalculate the price with your 19% and the items will become cheaper at checkout.

Also keep in mind you get better value for motherboards... with Intel you have B460 or Z490 ... z490 are more expensive if you compare feature vs feature with a b450 or b550 motherboard, you get less for more money.

I didn't said that. People always tell me AMD would be cheaper. Last time I checked it was like in the pdf-attachements. Yeah I know I could order outside, but not sure often.

I believe this. I think I'll open another thread, maybe some people can recommend some builds for me and I share what I got so far.

One more thing ....  Most if not all XT versions of Ryzen don't have coolers in the package.  They're expensive because they're new and probably in limited stock and there's excitement about them ... but they're just a bit better than regular X versions, not really worth stressing about it, too little performance increase to drool over it.

Ryzens come with a stock cooler that's actually decent and usable, even with some basic overclock - temperatures won't be great but the computer would be usable. Intel coolers are horrible so what you may think you save on processor, you would spend on cooler.
