When soldiers are replaced with robots, we'll need people to remote control them since AIs are not quite there yet. Gamers are ideal for that.

Tanks? Drones? Fighter jets? Helicopters?

Technically these are robots controlled by humans, which aren't gamers.

I said soldiers. Small difference between some robot designed to replace the infantry on the ground and a flying death machine.

And it could be argued that the ones piloting those are technically a sort of gamers, they don't absolutely need to get the strict military training to pilot them remotely.

The US Military has used video games to recruit people for decades. It's not going to stop now, no matter how much crying AOC does.

If she thinks she can slow down the military industrial complex, she's biting off way more than she can chew.

Not only that, the military isn't that dangerous. Only 10% of personnel ever see combat. I'd be more worried about traveling through certain parts of Chicago.

Drones replace soldiers.
See, you said soldiers and yet my argument still makes sense.

Think of the target audience. If they’re anything like Ninja etc, they might need a few boot camp sessions before being in the army!

Correct.  It may not even be the opinion of the congressperson.  Part of their job is relaying messages from constituents to various sectors of government.  Weird requests like that come in from constituents all the time I am given to understand.  You “wrote your congressman” this is what happens in theory.  She’s doing her job at least.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

There's very little tech component in this. And if left open, it will delve into politics. Also moved to Off Topic.
