I have a couple. They are loud as fuck, regardless of the RPM.

I am currently looking at the Noctua 12cm Industrial 3000RPM fan.

I understand the fan is extremely loud at full RPM, but what happens at low RPM?

If the fan is turn down to it's lowest allowable RPM, how does it compare to a regular Noctua 12cm fan?

They are not comparable in terms of noise to the regular NF-F12 series of fans. Even when dialed down all the way they are what I would consider audible, not dead silent.

I just got an NF-A14 iPPC 2000RPM PWM and at low speeds it's as quiet as my regular NF-F12s in the case. I'm not sure about the 3000RPM variants though.

If you're looking for low noise, either get the chromax.black or the 2000RPM PWM iPPC. Or be quiet! Silent Wings 3, those are also top performers.

They are quite. I have both 120 and 140 in the 2k and 3k variant. 2k is better for low rpm operation. They aren’t the quietest but I have a water cooled systems. So great static pressure and airflow is preferred and I’ll take the hit for it.

Plenty quite for me and aren’t any louder than my regular noctuas.

Thanks for the response everyone. I might give 2000 RPM a try, but probably going to skip the 3K version.
