But yeh, I've been thinking since like 30 minutes ago that the no emphasis is an obvious tell tale sign (atleast for ppl who watch LTT vid often), due to Linus usually emphasize a lot. xD

It's a great video. She talks shit, drops shit (IIRC), and is generally just a female Linus.

 

I hadn't finished the LTT video on the deepfake video, I see Linus addressed some of the issues with the hair.

 

Something still wasn't right about the front view of the hair, as well as around the jaw area, not to mention the head does not look like the correct scale to the body.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

You clearly missed the series where LMG ordered a gaming rig  from several pre-build vendors, the (lovely!) young lady used for ordering the systems is (or at least was at the time) an LMG employee. And there are more indications LMG is not a male-stronghold by any meaning. (pun intended!)

 

Your opinion of Yvonne is also not entirely correct. We've seen before that behind the scenes, Linus is a very savvy businessman and he holds the reins firmly. However, he also discovered how he can get the best out of his (obviously very talented!) team as well as his business: give & take. Give when you can, take when you must. Yvonne is the one tugging at her husbands LTT hoody (at the familiar dotcom site :P ) when he really needs to do the latter ;) (mind, by that time Linus already ignored several warnings from Collin et all about the bottom line so they call in their ultimate LMG guardian: Yvonne :P )

 

As to deepfakes, I've recently seen an article on a local news site about their current performance, but as my "tech news" post have been deemed "not news-by-the-rules" and thus moved I've stopped posting such threads. Good thing I did, otherwise it might have blown the cover on this story ;)

I assume the title is made in the typical joking manner.  It is neat that it's even good enough to be passable for actual use in a real video, but it really is only just barely past that line.  There is quite a significant amount of room left to improve for sure to the point where you'd want to actually rely on it rather than just doing a single experiment, and quite a lot further from there still to the point where it would have a chance of actually fooling anyone into thinking it's real.

it works decently as a still, but the movement especially sideways was not good, the headsize was off..

 

but they are getting closer, and when you see aging and deaging done on computers on movies today, with bigger budgets, it less uncanny valley than it used to be.. 

 

so i am quite sure that the technology is closer.

@LinusTech Just asking, what were the specs of the PC used in the AI model? To recreate face from images would require some serious processing power, not withstanding the fact that there are a hell a lot of frames to process in even a short video.

Thanks, seem to have got out of my mind. Would Threadripper with more cores have been quicker to complete the task than the 9900KS, or does it depend upon the single core performance of the CPU? Kill me if I didn't register that too.
