corsair air 540 high airflow

HardStroke

thoughts on the case?

yeah i know that its a very old case but it looks like the prefect case for my setup

ill put a Gigabyte Vision G with a 10700kf in there and a 2080 aorus.

10700kf cooled by a 240mm h100x rad.

if i do go for this case i thought of top mounting the rad as an exhaust since the case does come with 2 140mm intake fans so i could have positive air pressure

id like to hear yall thoughts about this case

It’s amazing case. I’ve made several setups in both of mine and would like a third to make a retro build.
But I would not use the included fans. Get anything else, they don’t move much air to be worth it but you may be happy with them but I’m sure you’ll fine out.

dammm thats a nice ass build!!!
yeah i saw online that those fans are not low rpm fans and that they are not that good.

maybe ill just switch them for corsair's af120 performance fans with 9 blades and 1650 rpm

but i do have 2 concerns and thats the front io

my current pc tower was facing its window to the wall and was eating dust like crazy.

so i turned it so the front is facing a part of the desk (almost no dust now) and its ok cause my front io is on the top.

if i go for this 540 case my io will be half blocked

and the other concern it the low connectivity on that from io

right now i have 2 usb 3.0 connectors and 2 usb 2.0 connectors and the 540 has only 2 usb 3.0 connectors....

I never use the front of the pcs. But you do have 2 5.25 bays. So you can add as much I/o as you want.

The Air 540 and 240 are much better for alirflow than the current 280x and 680x variants. Old =/= bad

never thought like that even for a split second

just wanted to know if its good in terms of airflow, how it is to build in it and how it is in general

as the phrase says "old but gold"

yeah i see now that the new series have trash airflow...

the 540 is my favorite case of all time.

saw it first in 2016 in jacksepticeye's setup tour and i fell in love with it ever since and im really excited to build my first custom pc in it

yeah i checked the 280x is a micro atx tower

my 2080 aorus wont fit in there with a front rad and i cant mount the rad at the top cause it will rub the cpu power connector

and i think that the gigabyte vision g wont really fit in there also...

the 680x is

WAY
TOO
EXPENSIVE

im not spending 300 dollars on a case - that aint happening

540 is 130 dollars cheaper and better

although the position on the i/o on those newer models is really good for me, i still rather have mad airflow
