Impressive but an LTT video showed PC can go even faster. Plus unless they can use that speed my Intel 750 is a waste in most any gaming stuff I've seen.

He is probably talking about the performance when comparing it to a similarly speced PC, which I would probably agree with him. But it's not going to blow a 2080ti out of the water

Only thing I can think of is it can do 5GB/s REAL WORLD, instead of theoretical.  As in load a 1GB game in 0.2 seconds realz timez.

 

Other than that, just marketing hype.

I think the difference with the PS5 SSD is going to be how its used, more of a software design, not the underlying hardware implementation. Theres a reason why you'll be able to upgrade storage if it meets a certain spec. 

 

Sony is going to use the source as streaming source, kind of like expanding the memory to boost performance and decrease load times. Current PCs have the physical capability of doing something similar, but it isnt really coded for due to the fragmented nature of the PC.

Just because an LTT video says they can doesn't mean that's correct. They're not exactly the most academic of people and even in the youtube space where people who do know a bit more, take gamersnexus for example, who generally state massive disclaimers that this isn't the channels space and they might not be 100% accurate. The PS5 ssd should be faster because of the extra hardware built around it it's not just a bog standard SSD.
