H500i "bar?" placement.

mikestrong88

I have a H500i with the X63 AIO in there and the fans are mounted in a push fashion at the moment.

My temps inside the case aren't great so I am getting a couple more fans to sit on the other side of the rad to pull cool air into the case too. I also wanted to add a little RGB goodness on show (don't shoot me)

The only issue I have though is clearance from the rad to the NZXT "bar" that is used for cable management. My question is, does anyone have a good way of moving that bar to make room for a couple more fans. Ideally I would like to keep this in place in some sort as I like how it hides everything, but I just don't have enough room for fans on that side.

Pic for reference so you can understand the nonesense I am speaking!

TIA

i don't think you can remove that bar. If I remember from building in a similar case it was welded on. Do you have any other space for fans?

NOTE: I AM NEVER ALWAYS RIGHT, BUT I AM HAPPY TO HELP ANYWAY I CAN

From memory there are 2 bolts that I can remove and the bar comes off. I could be wrong though.

Not really no, that side of the rad is the only place as everywhere else already has fans

You can remove it, but there's no way to shift it's placement for allowing more fans to be added. You either have less fans and a bar, or more fans and no bar :(

Dammit 😂 I thought that may have been the answer

So it turns out you can move the bar slightly. It comes with 3 different mounting options. Sadly it was already on the furthest one but I managed to jerryrig it a bit and it works.

Negatives, the bar is a bit loose and the hook at the bottom doesn't sit flush.

Positives, now the fans fit and I get to keep the bar to hide the cables.

Attachehed an image of the final product.
