Tech you wish would come...

ChrisIsn'tHere

I had a thought about tech I wish would be made available to the market that just isn't here yet, and well, the most useful thing I could thing of was this: a solid state drive ready cable (using the super sata port that LTT showed off in one of the CES 2k14 vids) going to an ssd that is in a 3.5 inch enclosure. The problem with the idea of an ssd is that the density of data stored on the flash memory can only be so much. Why not physically expand the enclosure to allow current densities to come in 1-4 tb flavors while more experimental densities go through development? Wouldn't that be a truly wonderful idea? I mean, just about every computer out there has a 3.5 inch slot. Why not make great use of that in the future?

Either way, that is just something I want. post below what you would like or reply to other people's posts to show support for ideas. Think of this thread as a think tank for dream stuff.

I would like the next gen intel core processors and the next gen nvidia cards to come out so I can justify buying them.

Honestly the only tech thing that I really want to be adopted across the USA is freaking fiber. Our internet here is god awful.

Same here in Modesto, CA. DSL here is up to 3M down, 1.5 up, but it feels like 1 down, 0.000025 up.

Back on track: We should have SSDs in higher capacities. Also, make them 3.5", like HDDs. Practically everybody has a 3.5: drive bay, internal or external.

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

They said they were discontinuing AM3, which to some meant they're not producing FX CPU's, I'm hoping it means an architectural change for AM4.

If I remember correctly that is.
