South Korea found another 169, up to 1146.

28,247 have tested negative

another 16,734 are under testing

A few others have ticked up a bit.

With the 185 new, differences in my spreadsheets:

  • one sheet says 81,003 (latest DXY numbers for China)
  • the other says 81,419 (using the EOD CNHC numbers for China)
  • the CSSE board says 81,002

Not a material difference, but annoying.

Found the error. In adjusting for mainland vs. non-mainland.

  • the other says 81,002 (using the EOD CNHC numbers for China)

(I should have thrown this all in a database from the start, so I wouldn't have to be reconciling this by hand)

  • Washington Post says South Korea up another 115 cases, to 1,261.
    • (~edit But I'm not finding that on the KCDC site.)
  • HONG KONG — In a bid to stem the financial damage caused by the coronavirus outbreak, Hong Kong’s government has announced a number of measures to aid individuals and firms. Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po revealed the measures in a speech on Wednesday, announcing that each adult permanent resident in the city would receive a handout of 10,000 Hong Kong dollars, about $1,280. Other measures included a full guarantee on loans of up to 2 million Hong Kong dollars — more than $250,000 — for small and medium-sized businesses, and government support for commercial utility payments.

And the KCDC count of 1,261 cases is confirmed.

They've tested 31,576 who tested negative.

Another 20,716 are under testing.

Top U.S. public health officials said Tuesday that Americans should prepare for the spread of the coronavirus in communities across the country...The CDC said Americans should prepare for the possibility of disruptions to their daily lives if the virus were to start spreading in the U.S. That could include closing schools, working from home and delaying elective medical procedures.

It’s impossible for me to work from home. I really can’t imagine my community becoming a ghost town.

The problem is we have so many people in Australia misrepresentation the current government very intentionally.  So many people believe it because there are so many claims like it all over the net.   It's actually a really bad problem at the moment because if it continues,  the next election is going to be dictated by sensationalist media and propaganda tweets.

There are supposedly 2 students infected here in the Arizona State University area. Are the reports of 40 accurate, or is it 42 in U.S.? I've seen numbers all over the place on my end.

I'd say they really should do something with this "14 days quarantine". Obviously it is not enough!

The standard was 40 days for a reason! No sickness develops after 40 days...

I'd say that this event should allow us to reevaluate a certain amount of things regarding our way of life...

BUT, as I've already said in another post, Hoo-Mans are a lost cause...

You can always get the CSSE count by Country/Region or City,St/Prov on their dashboard.

Tempe, AZ has been showing 1 case for many days (CSSE Time Series that I happen to have open right now).

The U.S. is showing its infections, plus 36 returned from the Diamond Princess. Only today, the Diamond Princess group has gone from 36 to 40.

The total yesterday was 53 (including that 36 from DP), and with another 4 to the DP group, the total I'm getting and seeing is 57.

And the CSSE's  Diamond Princess count just caught up. It's now showing 705.

You can always check what the day before was, at

https://github.com/CSSEGISandData/COVID-19

p.s.

The CSSE dashboard has some automated updating, but there seems to be delays where the source format keeps changing or otherwise requires manual updating to the data. Or the KCDC comes out in Korean first, and later is released in English - my guess is they're getting their data from the English version.

The small numbers will catch up. I'm mainly watching for bigger ones, that indicate that the small counts start to grow as delayed detection kicks in, as it did in Italy and South Korea.

  • 24 people arrested for "spreading of rumors" as they posted videos and alerted about the growing cases on social medias (Funny... Reminds me of another country...)

France:

  • The last day of the Carnival of Nice has been cancelled because of the CoVid-19 fear.
  • 5 new cases since yesterday (25/02)

US biotech firm Moderna has shipped an experimental coronavirus vaccine to US government researchers just six weeks after it started working on the immunization.

Initial trials of the potential vaccine could begin in April, but the process of testing and approvals would last at least a year.

Moderna (MRNA) said in a statement Monday that the first batch of its novel coronavirus vaccine, called mRNA-1273, has been sent to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
