Literally ruined

/s

Just touching that stuff is no issue likely. It's just like touching a motherboard; as long as you took the right ESD precautions, you can do no harm (and if you didn't take those steps, you likely didn't ruin anything either).

Don't worry about and enjoy the new GPU :)

Was it working before and after touching not working?

Was it turned on when you touched it? In any case - touching should not short circuit it.

Unless you were moon-walking on the carpet wearing your most fluffy Christmas socks while rubbing yourself with balloons just before, it's probably fine.

Actually you may have broken it...  It might break later if its not already broken.   The other commentators are just trying to make you not worry.

I was just kidding.  They likely would have covered it if they didn't want anyone touching it. I've accidentally touched lots of things on my computer and it never messed anything up.  To my knowledge the only thing your not supposed to touch is like a tube on a crt monitor or  tv because you can get shocked and die.

You didnt say how it was 'ruined'.  Your post is vague. If its not working you should check if everything is plugged in properly and if not its just a coincidence that you touched it, and you can get warranty service if it doesn't work.

The chance that you have damaged it is extremely small.

I have built 4 PCs all without ESD protection (can't be bothered) and I have never damaged anything.

Picking it up and removing the cover to have a look at it will not damage it.

Esd protection ?? What’s even that?? ? I build plenty of pc’s and never wear any, still all of my builds worked without single problem.

Don’t worry too much about it, touching stuff is not so dangerous (of course when it’s not running)

Unless you were rubbing your feet on the carpet, while using your left hand to rub a baloon on your hair and holding the card in your right hand whilst walking by a functioning tesla coil, you should be alright.
