IKEA Malm enough to fit PC and two 24-inch monitors?

deezeewhytea

So I'm planning to buy a new desk and I just wanted to know if the IKEA Malm is big enough to fit two 24" monitors and a Mid-Tower case and still have just enough to not make it feel like everything is too compressed.

The monitor I have is a Samsung SyncMaster S23B300 and I'm planning to get another one and my case is the Segotep Halo 3.

IKEA Malm dimensions

Width: 140 cm
Depth: 65 cm
Height: 73 cm

Case Dimensions
41.30 x 20.50 x 48.00 cm

Monitor
Width: 54.7 cm
Height: 40.5 cm
Depth: 19.7 cm

thanks

What's considered cramped is up to you. That seems fine to me as long as the side of the tower is near a wall. I'd otherwise be worried about it being knocked over.

That's going to be real tight. I'd just leave the tower on the floor.

I have the 72" desk, and if I had 2 monitors it'd be a real tight fit with my speakers without a case.

It will fit. I used to have a MALM desk with a 22", 24" and my PC on it.

I should really clean up my desk and make a new picture...

Now I have a corner desk (IKEA Galant) which I got super cheap second hand and that works just a lot better IMO.

If you have the room, I would strongly suggest that too. Second hand model has some blemishes and a sun damaged spot, but it's a lot nicer to have all that room.

EDIT: by the way, I should mention I just measured my old MALM and see I mine is a little over 150cm wide, so your's seem a little narrower. But that shouldn't be a huge deal. As you could see in the picture, my PC had some clearance on the side and if your monitor stand allows for it, it could overhang the edge of the desk a little.
