Is instagram making me follow people without even.. yknow, asking?

GenericFanboy

Lately i've been having the problem that i suddenly have people in my feed. And me never having followed them. I click on the account and see its followed by someone i do follow. Does this mean it just thinks "Oh yeah, Sure lets just make him fucking follow them cause why not lol"

Am i alone with this problem?

Do you have an app which e.g. increases your followers etc? These does that, automatic follow, then unfollow couple days later once they follow you. If not the case, never heard of anything like that..

Many social media sites sometimes show recommended content on people's timeline/feed/etc, which the site thought that the user might be interested in; I think that would be it

I know that, But like. Why does it make me follow them?

Are you actually following them, though? You said you clicked on one such account, and someone you follow also follows them.

You didn't actually state that you were following them. It should be very clear if that's the case (it should say "following" and allow an option to unfollow).

whats the age range of a boomer?

the whole way this thing works is that the age is irrelevant, if you don't get that then you probably fit the criteria to be called a boomer lol

Yes it does say following. Otherwise it wouldnt be a problem.

I've experienced this before, and so have a number of other people based on a Google search. A few comments in this Reddit thread explain how to try to prevent it from happening any more. I just tried it, so I'll see how it goes. I'm following more than 1000 accounts, and they're almost all car owners and car accounts, so it gets really difficult to keep track of accounts that I haven't followed manually. Fortunately, it's extremely rare that any of the random accounts' posts make it into my feed because of all of the other accounts I'm following lol.
