Are AMD really launching Zen 2 & Navi on a day when most computer stores will be closed?

 

Seems pretty short sited to me.

Im in Canada and the local stores that will have stock on day one are open on sunday and lets not kid ourselves, the majority of the stock will be sold online anyways, sundays dont matter to websites, although the fact that delivery companies often dont ship on sunday, at least in this country, is certainly an issue for some.

I've been to enough midnight launches to know that a high-profile product launch warrants a store being open at a time when it normally wouldn't be.

Online orders ... or simply watch few reviews on Sunday, go to the beach and then buy CPU on Monday.

I used to be desperate for new products, but now I just don't mind if I have to wait few more days/weeks or event months. Life ruined me -sigh-

TBH I wouldn't buy on launch day anyway.  Always wait for reviews, then wait a bit longer until serious flaws or compatibility issues are known

I'm looking into building a new Ryzen 3xxx rig, but I'm going to wait until November or December.

It should be on Friday so people could build through the weekened but then they would miss out the 7/7 marketing shenanigan.
