AMD RX 570 with a new gen CPU

Right now my buds is using a Core 2 Quad no OCed along with a RX 570 I bought for him.  He immiediely said its so fast and so smooth compared to his old 760 GTX.  My question is how much more FPS will he gain when he upgrades his CPU to a 2018 CPU.  He play at 1080p and lets say he gets 60fps constant, with no real drops.

Depends on CPU and games, but if you have 6c it would not drop that often, But there is nothing wrong with 4/8 tbh. Can get a 60-80 medium settings depends on games again.

Depends on the games, although going from the core 2 era to something like Zen 2 would likely be quite the leap

It depends from game to game so it's hard to give an accurate figure, but I'm 100% certain it will be a very noticeable difference.

With something like a Ryzen 5 2600 I think he'd probably get around 80-100fps at 1080p High settings in most games.

There's no way he noticed any difference between the GTX 760 and the RX 570, the CPU bottlenecks both of them hard, so I bet there will be quite a huge difference in all games

 

But if all he wants is 60 FPS and he's already getting it, then what's the point of upgrading

Hey complains when maps are big he says it slows down, and I tell him its the CPU holding him back.  Im right when I say that to him right ?

It's a 4/4, I don't think there were Core 2 series CPUs with more than 4 cores/threads. Not to mention IPC is terrible and since it's not OCed the clocks will be abysmal by today's standards as well. 570 is way too much for that to handle, it's better paired with a more modern i5 at least, or an older OCed 6c.

Well I'm not talking about core 2 series because op's asked about how much performance it will get with 2018 hardware's
