Best Air-Cooler

I was wondering what would be the biggest and best air-cooler that would fit inside the Coolermaster H500P Mesh, don't care about sound but please list the price next to it, but as long as it will fit and i can put it in the case and crank the fan(s) rpm to max. Only limitations are the case and must be compatable with LGA1151 and/or AM4.

NH-D14/NH-D15 use clips that attach to 120mm fan mounts, so you'd want 120mm fans or something like the NF-P14r or NF-A15 which they come with already.

The NH-D14 you used to be able to use Megahalems fan clips for 38mm thick fans, maybe that would work on a NH-D15? I'm sure someone's put some big obnoxious fans on one by now.

they come with 140mm fans.

if it was 120mm you would want to replace them with sterrox fans like on the Nh-U12A

The NH-D14 comes with one NF-P14r and one NF-P12 or whatever their previous model names were before they were rebranded into the Redux line. The NH-D15 comes with two NF-A15's. Not a single one of these fans will mount like a standard 140mm fan.

just had a doublecheck. no they wont mount as standard 140mm fans. but if you are going to replace them. you should probably use 140mm fans

Quote

Round 140mm frame with 150mm width

The NF-A15 is tailor-made for use on today's high-end CPU coolers: While its 150mm width matches those of most high-end heatsinks, its 140mm height doesn't make it extend on top and thus ensures best case compatibility. The NF-A15's standard 120mm mounting holes (105mm spacing) also make it an ideal performance upgrade for 120mm case or CPU fans.

they do have regular 120mm mounting holes tho.

using the nh-d14 you could perhaps replace 1 of the fans with Sterrox and add a second sterrox.

Noctua NH-D15
beQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4

Cryorig R1 Ultimate

Zalman CNPS9900MAX

These are the best of the best in dual tower air coolers (afaik). All 4 should perform within a few degrees of each other.

I have the Noctua and the Zalman and can speak to their performance. The Zalman in particular is nice because it is quite cheap, at $25 USD on Amazon.

Edit: PSA: The Zalman does not ship with an AM4 bracket. You can send an RMA request to Zalman about the AM4 bracket and they will send you one. However, as of right now, Zalman is temporarily out of stock of AM4 brackets for these coolers.

What cpu are you cooling? Is noise not an issue?

Moved to Air Cooling.

Not one specific cpu and was stated in the first post that noise was not a concern, just what was the OVERALL best air cooler.

The socket limits what coolers can be used.

The NH-D15 with the 3000rpm NF-A14's or some other very high rpm fans might be about as good as it gets for air cooling. You can see the same NF-F12's compared on some other large heatsinks here: https://www.hwcooling.net/en/how-sensitive-is-ninja-5-to-airflow-changes/3/

You can contact Noctua for 140mm fan mounts like those here in RelaxedTech's test of the same configuration: http://www.relaxedtech.com/reviews/noctua/nf-a14-industrialppc/7

BGears b-blaster fans are really good at cooling AIOs and air coolers. (They have a 140mm fan that outputs 308cfm and has an mmH20 of 31.08 at 12V but sucks up 2.76 Amps) (DON'T PLUG IT INTO THE MOTHERBOARD HEADERS!!!!)

140mm that I just mentioned - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835132046

120mm one that outputs 218cfm https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAG7X7HF7800
