Need a decent graphics card

Will be using the system for some video editing, browsing and photos & home movies.

 

What card would be suitable please on a Ryzen 2700X with 16Gb DDR4 3200Mhz?

So not gaming then?

Depending on the video editing program you might not benefit from a graphics card at all.

no doubt the gtx is a hero to all of thoes and it even does some light gaming. there is a variety of sizes of them and they arnt really really expensive like the rtx 2080 and gtx titan is

Depends a bit on the video editing, sony vegas renders a lot faster using NVENC Encoder, i use a 2060 and it works fine for vegas 15

OP: Depending on budget, perhaps a 1660 ti, or a 2070. AMD can be iffy, and you need something with CUDA, then amd's out of the question

We would need a budget. But to accelerate any editing workload, an 8GB RX 570 would be great. For a bigger budget look at maybe Vega or an RTX Card.

Budget is $200-$250. I want a decent card so that I do not regret a cheaper buy and regret it.

I don't know how heavy your video editing is, but usually the more vram the better so...if you're doing heavier video editing, then the rx 590 8gb is for you:

Well I think this will be my first time ever recommending an rx 590 to anybody but for gaming which I know this isn't about the gtx 1660 and rx 590 are pretty close with the 1660 usually winning by marginal fps. In programs in which cuda acceleration is a thing then the gtx 1660 is probably the clear winner but the rx 590 and rx 580 absolutely destroy the 1660 in compute loads. Depends on what video editing software you use and exactly what you actually see yourself doing with your computer besides mundane tasks that the gt 210 could sometimes get done.
