Where do you get your wallpapers/desktop backgrounds from?

Wallpaper engine on steam. :D 

$4 for animated wallpapers. Favorite one by far is a GTA V rain loop with upgraded textures. Super calming. You can also make them pause when you launch full screen applications so it doesn't kill frames in game.

Why would you pay to get something for free? Google is where it is at.
Just look for some keywords, put in the desired image size and press Search.

 

There's also plenty of wallpaper websites to go around that you can find on google as well.

 

If you want animated, then like the others have said, WP engine on Steam.

Huh. I haven't downloaded any new wallpapers in like a decade. Any time I have my PC on, I'm likely to have the display full of windows, so there's not much point in spending much effort on wallpapers. I mostly just rotate a few old ones, with a wallpaper I made like 15 years ago being one of my favourites:

I find a cool image that I like, then I do a reverse google image search for visually similar images that are greater than 2 MP in size. This is the original image that I started with, and I found around 10 different wallpapers that I liked.

I started with a Google search for Lovecraft-inspired wallpapers in my resolution. Then I supplemented those with game art from my GOG library.

 

Back in the day, I used to make my own with Photoshop.
