Would you guys also upgrade?

Yeun7

Right now I am running a gtx 1070, there is a evga 1080ti fe for $480. Do you guys think it makes sense to upgrade from that especially since i am helping my cousin with his first build i could always just kick my 1070 to him. Currently im just doing 1080p 144hz gaming (mainly apex, pubg, ff14) so the 1070 is doing just fine on medium high settings. I do want to do some 1440p or even ultra settings.

Current build:

CPU: i5 6600k

Mobo MSI z170a m5

RAM: 16gb gskill 3200mhz

ssd: 1tb samsung 860evo

gpu: gtx 1070

psu: corsair RMx 650w

Your CPU needs an upgrade before your GPU does. At the very least I'd get a 7700K, preferably used.

I mean I would go for it, seems a good enough deal for a GTX 1080 Ti which is still like the second best gaming card there is alongside the RTX 2080.

The i5 6600K will bottleneck it though and it's sad that second hand i7 7700K are still so stupidly overpriced... I'd say grab the GPU already and upgrade to a Ryzen 3000 series down the line.

If you're reaching 144 fps in the titles you want (or thereabouts) then yes go for it, because you can turn up the graphics. You won't have to worry about increased CPU load.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

No, not really.

I'd wait for the new stuff coming later this year and then upgrade.

Not right now though, its a bad time.
