Widows 8.1 can piss off

Why make drivers when you can say "F*ck the OS"

If it was legal I would punch Ballmer right in his cock.

i know this is a bit off topic but does windows 8(8.1) take up less storage space than windows 7?

and does anyone know exactly how much storage space both OS's take up?

I'm considering buying windows 8 because of framerates.

It's only illegal if you get caught.

The 1 or so FPS difference isn't really worth the headache. Stick with 7.

Am I the only one that is having ridiculously stupid issues since updating to 8.1 (I know I'm not)

I mean every startup is different, sometimes it takes a while and sometimes it comes right on. Sometimes the fucking wireless spazzes out when it resumes from sleep sometimes it doesn't, sometimes My Touchpad gestures work on startup, sometimes they don't.

I mean every time I turn on the computer it's like embarking on a new troubleshooting adventure.

Dear Microsoft.  please die in a fire.

*rant over

But seriously is anyone else here having issues?

I love 8.1 I have never had a issue the os is snappy and works great

Have you tried updating your drivers and software?  Please elaborate on what the hell you mean by "twitchy".

My PC specifications are in my profile.

i have been using windows 8.1 for almost a month now. tbh i have no boot up problems and i honestly dont have anything against windows 8 since i use the windows 7 layout for windows 8 so i dont even have to fiddle wit h the crappy 8.1 interface.

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD FX 8350  Motherboard: Gigabyte 990XA UD3  GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce 2GB  HDD: WD Green 2TB SSD:  Corsair Force GT 120GB SSD RAM: Corsair 8GB(2X4) PSU: CoolerMaster G650M

I use an SSD for my bootdrive and I never have slow boot times, unless it's obviously updating. I also have a wireless USB adapter and I never have problems with that either.

On my not so good laptop, a under $300 non wiz of a thing, Windows 8.1 has been a dream, other than the Modern UI, which has been replaced by Start8 of course.  Fast bootup times (all things considered with a slow hard drive of course) and no driver issues whatsoever.  It's rather snappy actually, until it gets bogged down with running too much, but that's MY fault, not the os' fault.  You can't run 80 things at once on a dual core Pentium machine.

Have been trying to get into Windows 8/8.1. I'm having a severe issue where whenever I launch a game in Windows 8, my hard drive and SSD usage will spike and stay a constant 100%. This would happen with all my games and will only stop when I turn off the game.

I've moved back to Windows 7. It just works, shouldn't have left it in the first place.

Windows 8/8.1 is the biggest pile of shit if you're using wireless. I've had nothing but problems with the wireless, i'm going to buy a powerline adapter, since it doesn't require any special software on your pc, then i'll upgrade to windows 8/8.1. The wireless issue is the ONLY issue stopping me from upgrading to 8/8.1

Would be good if you quoted the person that you are asking the question.

Also I said Lenovo's are twitchy. In my experience I've worked with a lot of them. They come bundled with a crap ton of junkware, and usually have problems here or there with various things. Especially with Win 8.
