TSA killed my pc, (R.I.P Galion Evo)

I've flown with my PC a couple of times and haven't had any trouble - then again, they've always been domestic flights.

 

A tip I've seen often is to pack it with a gun component so it's required to be locked with a non-TSA lock. Then if they open your luggage at all without your direct consent (which means you're there), then you can often press for full compensation.

For some freaking reason they ripped out my radiator and my graphics card, damaged the case cracked the radiator leaked whatever was in it all over the motherboard, snapped off my GPU's io plate and bent the fans. This is bullshit, that they can't tell this is a PC? 

The only things I could salvage were the dual 2.5 inch ssds in the front, I'm not even sure if the m.2 and ram will still work with the radiator fluid on it.

i doubt they "ripped" anything out. was likely damaged due to mishandling of the luggage, this is why it's generally recommend to remove those parts before packing them

Why did you leave the GPU in the PC when shipping it...?

I've been traveling with it in this manner for a month now, this is the first time I eve stuck on the fragile label on it. So far I had no problems till pittsburgh

Ok so you don't know how to package or move a PC properly, and expected that other people would be careful with a random large heavy box just because of a label on it?

not to add to the "why didn't you" train, but how big was your PC? o_o did it happen in baggage/person inspection or after you boarded?

Galion Evo's cases was a raijintek ophion Evo it wasn't that big but the bag was

Just a quick note, but the TSA doesnt handle baggage along the entire line, just part/s. It could also be fault of the airport baggage handlers, or even the airline itself.

Actually it's totally possible. One person had a gun decal on their motherboard so TSA cleaved off their GPU in the PCIE slot

I had shipped a PC from Pittsburgh to Roswell and it arrived completely disassembled.  Nothing was really super damaged.  But screens to the board was rattling in the case, cooler was unbolted, graphics card was light but unscrewed but the bracket wasn't bent.  Feds raided it, got a full refund of the cost from FedEx in 2 weeks with basic proof.

The fun part is it could have happened at the departing airport or the arriving. So you end up with a possibility of a few different parties that could be at fault.

However, if you want to file a complaint it is best you have as many pictures as possible and some of what it looked like when you first got it back after the flight
