Wow... So after just one day of switching our dogs to raw food...

 

-No more room-clearing, earth-shaking farts.

-No more standing at the water station drinking for half an hour at a time.

-Normal and smaller poops. 

 

The cost is also about 50% less than what we were paying for kibble every month. :)

yep... mine used to eat that like a kilo per day, but we halved it because she needs to lose some weight. not that many farts here tho

Copper is one happy little SOB. You can throw a ball for him until your arm falls off, and then he'll still be mad at you for stopping. 

 

Maxine on the other hand, wants you to throw the ball, but doesnt want to give it to you. Copper still hasn't managed to teach her that part haha.

The little dachshund I used to dogsit would wake me up every hour at night to go outside until I started taking him outside just before bedtime and play fetch with him until he was practically tripping over his own tongue. The litle guy would tear down the length of my lot to snag the ball, then tear back just as fast to drop it at my feet and would bark at me if I didn't pick it up right away and throw it for him again.

 

One fringe benefit of taking that dog with me when I ran errands was he was a great "chick" magnet. Unfortunately, the gals he "picked up" were couples and/or were way too young for me.

Amazing isn't it? When I was in college my landlord was a hunter and would share some steaks with me as payment because I did yard work/landscaping for him during the summer. My roommate had a dog and it would get the cut raw scraps and bits and pieces before I cooked my meals. Not many dogs feasted on elk/moose/deer like that one did.

One week on raw food. They love it and it's easier than we thought it would be (once you get into a "system"). The dogs are doing great and their poops are TINY! Like, less than HALF the size they were dumping before (sorry for the TMI, but everyone with dogs or children talk about poop at some point :P). They also barely drink water anymore (they get a lot of it in the food and the food is not loaded with sodium and other stuff that makes them thirsty). They used to drink a full 5 Gal jug PER WEEK. This week, they've barely touched it! ? 

 

This weekend we'll be adding some other proteins into the mix (one at a time). :)
