Speaking of doggos being intimidating: Jaba and Laslo (a husky/wolf mix from a friend) killed a mouse together on the walk today.

They're actually both quite photogenic. The white one is Xanadu and the mostly grey one is Leonard. :)

Correct. They were retrievers and their thick, wooly, water resistant fur made them especially suitable for retrieving downed fowl from water although they were used on dry land as well.

 

Many people beileve the poodle is second in intelligence only to the border collie. My limited experience with both supports this. When I was married, we had a border collie, two poodles, a German Sheherd, and a lab mix. The border collie and the second poodle were tied for first in intelligence (the first poodle tied with the German Shepherd for intelligence; the second poodle actually learned how to spell), the Geman Shepherd was "dumb as a fox" (she was intelligent but knew enough not to openly display it), and the lab mix was dumb as rocks (seriously, something was just wrong about that dog).

Now teaching Olivia to carry objects. She's getting the hang of it quickly, just need to work on holding them when we come to a stop as she usually drops it, lol. Learning every day though. :)
