apologies if wrong category, i'm new

Linus recently mentioned in he recent live stream that he is going to crush explode or otherwise destroy his old car with a tank, I don't think this is a good Idea mainly because there are a lot of people driving around cars in worst shape than his, people who would rather have the car in it current glue and craft supply infested state than the car they are currently using. That is including me. some people don't have the money to get their broken cars fixed to use them and some might not even have a car, not everyone can just go out and buy a new car. I propose you do something crazy technological like put a gaming pc in it or make a crazy dashboard hud that projects onto the windshield then afterwards sell auction it or donate it to someone who needs it. A lot of people(myself included) started watching your videos because they had no money to buy a decent computer, so they looked to building one, LTT is one of the reasons I have a computer to type this right now,and I hardly even spent on this computer, for example the monitor I use is one I got at goodwill for $25. Please don't destroy a perfectly working car just for youtube views, there are plenty of youtube videos of cars and tanks, Give it to someone who needs it.

One: they already did something with it, they mounted a beamer on it and went outside to game with some fans

 

Two: the front windows has some cracks ans would be more expensive to repair than the worth of the car. So it's not even legal to drive it rn

even if they didnt pretty much ruin it last LTX, from what i've heard of it, it still wasnt a responsible car to drive 3 children around in.

 

it's not a competition of who has the worst car, it's a matter of "it was time to get something better", and the car pretty much had zero sale-value.

It isn't a "perfectly working car". It is illegal to drive it in the state the car is in, and would cost several times what the car is worth (i.e. its scrap value) to make it road-legal. Nobody that is in need of a car so desperately that Linus's old car would be an option would have the money required to repair it and make it road legal.

No. It's a Honda. Honda and Toyota's retain some nice values.

A 18 year old Toyota Camry market price 1000-1500$ Canadian

As for an 18 year old Honda Civic (being smaller and cheaper cars to start with), are still worth around 700-900$ Canadian

 

The main reason for this is that they are reliable cars, and the engine still runs smoothly (assuming all maintenance was done following the owners manual).

If you want a car that lasts a very long time, or is problem free and low maintenance for a very long time, get a Honda or Toyota. Simple as that. These 2 brands don't do planned obsolescence. They let their newer cars makes you want to switch instead.

Yeah, I'm not into cars that much. But I thought he said it in the video that it isn't drivelegal anymore and that the repairs would cost more than it's worth, because of a crack in the front window he mentioned (if I remember right)

Well we don't know anything about the actual state of the car.

For example, if he never changed the spark plugs at the required time (say) and skips on some other needed maintenance and the battery is gone, plus the windshield, then yea, it probably costs ore than the value of the car easy, as you said. And also, you have to consider that the owner of the car might just not want to handle the sale of the car. This is why many people just gave their old car to the dealsership for a minimal amount, where the dealership will convince your perfectly good car scrap, while he sales it to a company who buys cars in lots from dealerships, which will either repair the car and sale it, or sale every good part of the car.

 

But my point is that it is more than a windshield replacement cost, and other minor things.

Linus himself has stated that it's not worth anything anymore. 

Also, are we talking about the same car here? The lambo is basically a wreck. Disregarding the paint and glitter on it, many things on it don't even work.

It may not be worth anything on the open market, or even as scrap, or even be able to hit the road. It may not even be in the best of shape. But the Lambo must be retained for the sake of LMG history! I mean come on, how large of an influence has it made on LTT?
