Headphones wont work after RAM installation
myselfolli replied to vorandasb's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Try removing the RAM stick to verify that it's what causes the issue. I've never heard of a problem like that myself... -
Check that you have set your microphone set as the default recording device as described in Solution 2 of the guide I linked. Also, how is your mic/headset connected? From what I found online, it should have dual 3.5 mm audio jacks. Please make sure they are both plugged in correctly.

We won't really be able to help. Try contacting the google support here

Check if Windows allows access to the microphone. There's a weird setting hidden somewhere in Windows 10, I'll try to find a guide. BRB Edit: Found a quick guide TLDR: Settings -> Privacy -> Check that the device has microphone access and that apps have access to the mic as well

Upgrading from i5-7400 to i7-700
myselfolli replied to Mateusz78's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Keeping your BIOS updated is always recommended, although in your case it shouldn't matter. If your system runs with the i5, it'll be fine with the i7 -
Thanks for your help, I'll keep looking...

My problem exactly. I've been trying to find really high res images I like and to edit them so I can use them properly, but they'd need to be at least 8k...

That's a good start, but since one of my monitors is in portrait mode, none of the usual wallpapers work really. I theoretically need a 6560 * 1440 image as a background...

Hi everybody! I've just recently treated myself to a third monitor, which I'm really enjoying. But I'm kind of OCD when it comes to the looks of my setup, and I want my wallpaper(s) to look decent. Since my setup is kind of unconventional, it's proving to be difficult to find something I like. I have three WQHD 2560 / 1440 16:9 monitors, two of which are horizontal and one (furthest to the right) is vertical. I like really minimalistic and/or abstract wallpapers, having them animated (I'm currently using wallpaper engine to achieve that) is nice as well. My desktops are

Spark when working on laptop motherboard
myselfolli replied to lvtcs's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Sparks are usually not a good sign, if you want to understate it like that. Sounds like you fried at least your motherboard, maybe more -
using my laptop as a controller for shooting games?
myselfolli replied to Snowarch's topic in PC Gaming
Well then learning to play properly is your best shot -
using my laptop as a controller for shooting games?
myselfolli replied to Snowarch's topic in PC Gaming
That's... interesting. I suggest you learn how to play "properly" (the way it was intended), with keyboard and mouse though, playing with your laptop as a controller won't be a fun experience. We're talking about Steam's own in house streaming solution, just give it a quick google search -
using my laptop as a controller for shooting games?
myselfolli replied to Snowarch's topic in PC Gaming
I played Borderlands 2 as well, and I don't recall a single time when I needed to have both hands on the keyboard. Like... ever. You could in theory use steams in home streaming (like @_Syn_ suggested), but you'd introduce latency. -
That's the one I ended up taking. It just took me some time to find one that was in stock...

That ended up working, I did find it in the end. Thank you so much!

Hello everybody! I just got myself a boom arm for my microphone, which is pretty neat. I have one problem though: The boom arm has an integrated cable (which I want to use), that ends in a USB type B cable at the microphon side. My microphone expects a micro USB cable though. And for some reason I just can't seem to find an adapter for my needs. Am I missing something? If anybody is able to find it in any stores etc: I'm located in germany Thanks in advance!

Need to upgrade GF laptop without telling her...
myselfolli replied to ZWELINHTET's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Pretty much any RAM and SSD that physically fits will work, it all depends on what features you want and how much you're willing to spend -
The left click stopped working one of my Rarzer Mamba TEs after about 1 1/2 - 2 years, but that was while I was in school and I would travel with my mouse daily, which probably didn't help. Another one had a problem with the laser sensor, after maybe 1 year. I've had another Mamba TE (sue me, I like the mouse ^^), which I've since replaced with the new Viper Ultimate. Neither of which have given me any issues. Keep in mind, that all of the mice that have broken on me have lasted at least a year and they failed after heavy use and lots of travel. Once I stopped taking th
