Very cool! I have been doing the BOINC seti@home thing for over a decade again and again, never really thought of making it a competition. Now i have started folding just this month and after seeing WAN show, here i am on the team! Why not get a chance to win a proper graphics card while doing a good thing :D

I have a bulldozer APU—I now, it won't help that much—but is there a way to use the internal graphics to crunch more numbers?

After you complete 10 WUs you are eligible to receive bonus points for quick return, so you should see a huge boost in how many points you are earning. Just make sure you have a passkey set as well.

Bonus Points

The prompt completion of Work Units (WUs) is very important for the science we’re doing. In order to study the proteins we’re interested in, we need be able get the results back quickly. A faster turnaround also means that we can launch projects that are larger and more difficult than ever before. So in 2010 we introduced the Quick Return Bonus (QRB), which gives extra points to users who rapidly and reliably complete WUs. The QRB has been fairly successful in aligning points with scientific value, and we will continue to use it.

What are the qualifications for the QRB?

The bonus is applied for users who use a passkey, have successfully returned at least 10 bonus-eligible WUs, have successfully returned 80% or more of assigned WUs, and returned the unit before its Timeout (formerly Preferred Deadline). Bonus points do not apply to partial returns.

Hey guys,

I´ve got a question: I´m folding with a rx570, and the program FAHControl said i´ll get 60.000 points for copmleting this work.

but even 12 hours after completing this work, i got no pionts on my profile, only my cpu points. Any suggestions what I might be doing wrong ?

And that's because it has a cross-domain reference to your local machine. That's not considered a really secure thing to do.

I don't think the FAH core use OpenCL to compute, so the only thing it uses is your CPU. But I have no idea why you didn't receive the score after finished it.

CPU is way slower than GPU. There is a reason why people use GPUs for simulations not CPUs.
If you do it on your CPU all fans in your case will get boosted to the limit.

Tanks for your reply.

I know, that FAH not uses opencl, but some kind of cuda i think. When you switch in the taskmanager to compute1, there was full load. Tried it again this day, it said I will get 65000 points, but didnt get them either. Thats pretty annoying.

Paralell Im running a rig with only a  i5 3570, wich is not earning that many points.
