  1. alright the ports being (in)active is a good explanation. Is there a way to keep the ports active? or is that setting baked into the monitor ?
  2. When i turn off M2 everything stays normal. when i then turn off M1 it will also put everything on M2 even tho its off. so that doesnt add up. i also used a 2nd monitor on my laptop and when i turned of that monitor is wouldnt just smack everything on my laptop screen.
  3. GPU: MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X (Drivers updated yesterday) Monitor 1: MSI Optix MAG27C => will refer to as M1 Monitor 2: Dell P2719H => will refer to as M2 Here is the problem: When i turn off M1 all my windows opened on M1 will move to M2. When i turn it back on, ALL windows (also the ones that were originally on M2) jump to M1. It has been like this for like 2 years and its kind of driving me nuts. I did some simple detective work and found out that when i turn off M1, it didnt show up in device manager anymore. Turning off M2 wil
  4. thanks for this. i will be using hwinfo from now on. Has never given it a try but it clearly is the winner here.
  5. So, since a couple of days my ryzen master app won't open. It tells me to disable VBS which is needed to run my virtualised android emulators. I need the emulator so i am trying to find a way to get temp readings from the cpu. HWMonitor doesnt show it, never has. I have found some threads with people stating you can bypass the VBS check by editing the hex of the ryzenmaster.exe file but no one has a clear tutorial on how to do it. Also i read on a couple of sites that cpu temp reading by third party software isnt really accurate on ryzen chips.
  6. the comparison to a 4K screen made it kinda selfexplanatory for me, tnx. I was looking at this one earlier todaytttttttttttttttttt: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super GAMING OC 3X 8G That one should deliver a decent 60FPS on midtier games ? Or do you recommend going one step higher to ensure good performance?
  7. Someone asked me to make him a build that can later be used for a cockpit setup. So do I need multiple GPUs or will this run on 1 GPU? Also if 1, what kind of GPU are we looking at considering the games iracing, asseto corsa, ...
  8. My Corsair ST100 arrived yesterday and i wanted to use its 3.5mm jack for my headset. (HyperX Cloud Mix) There is this hissing noise that is quite noricable with quiet music. I tried the 3.5mm jack on the front of my pc and there i dont seem to have that problem. "Then use that port" would be your answer. But my mic doesnt seem to work over that combojack. It only picks up some sound every 5secs. Any idea on how i can fix this annoying sound?
  9. QNAP has an app to sync NAS to NAS. so i think i will just get another QNAP. Its not that i dont know how to configure rsync and stuff, but im not the networking kinda dude, so i prefer the easy way. Building one urself isnt even cheaper(most of the times), thats the main reason actually. tnx for the offer tho
  10. i have a QNAP, went for one of those because of their very low poser draw.
  11. i have 2 8TB HDDs. but i want a backup somewhere. i dont think u read the post. like at all
  12. Only the initial backup will take long yes. Do you recommend to get a (maybe external) hdd or to get a NAS on another location ?
  13. I have had my NAS for like 2 years now and im building quite a large and rare media library. I run WD reds 8TB in RAID1 so disk failure is not really a problem. Ive been living in fear of someone managing to get into my NAS and just "rm -rf"ing the shite out of it. Ive looked in to some cloud storage services but for my 2.5TB and growing disk usage, i would be paying at least like €25 a month. I can't spend that much money every month. Are there any cloud storages that are more affortable? (im aware that cloud storage is just using someone else's pc, so it can't be free) Other id
