My god, the ignorance is overwhelming. I never said they invented anything. They perfected it. Do you think it's a coincidence that Apple Watch is the only good smartwatch available today. Android Wear is pretty much dead in the water while Samsung is still selling a smartwatch they unveiled two years ago.

opinion)

Let me stop you there, respectfully.

The Apple Watch is a good smartwatch but saying that it's the only good one out there is pretty darn ignorant.

The Apple Watch has merits but it also has flaws. Chief among which is that it only works with iPhones. If you use an iPhone, there you go. But if you don't, it's a no-go. Unsurprising because Apple has never played ball with others but still a flaw for those who don't use iPhones.

I agree that Android Wear is dead but I'd wager that's more to do with Google's software incompetence in that area. The Gear is a solid smartwatch and is actually my favorite one because it looks great and offers solid battery life. It's pretty much the Apple Watch of Android.

The Apple Watch is a solid smartwatch IF you use an iPhone. If you don't, there are alternatives which actually deliver a solid enough experience.

He was clearly talking about Apple Pay, which they did it right, hence being successful which is not a subjective statement.

AR Kit hasn't made any traction yet and if I say that it is successful, then it's a subjective statement (which is an opinion)

I see where you are coming from and I am not denying that Apple Pay is successful. However, successful and "done right" are two different things.

What you're doing right now is called an argumentum ad populum. Popularity can not be used as an indicator of how good something is. If it was, then Mc Donalds would be the worlds best restaurant.

You can say that Mc Donalds is successful, and you're being objective.

However, if you try and say Mc Donalds were the first to "get hamburgers right", then you're being subjective.

Do you see the difference?

Likewise, you can say that Apple Pay is successful in an objective way, saying they were the first to "get it right" is subjective.

The fault in this case (user inflicted damage) isn't even covered by the original manufacturer warranty. The new FTC ruling isn't relevant here.

This isn't about warranty of a disassembled product, the refusal in this case was because Apple doesn't have a proper support program in place for this product.

Yes, agreed. I watched the video. I was referring to comments people made about the FTC ruling.

If a customer offers to pay for repairs, manufacturers shouldn't be treating what they did linus

Apple's service makes EA look godly by comparison.

Oddly enough EA has great customer support (Though this was just after Andromonda got launched and i bet they were happy to find someone just wanting to play their old sims game)

I buy what suits my needs at the time, but has someone who fixes their own machines, making it difficult to even obtain parts just puts me right off.  If i purchase a machine I expect at least a form of service at my cost offered for case such as Linus, or warranty for simple breakdowns within the period applied in the t/c. To push a product out before that infrastructure is up and running would be like running a transit network without ticket machines yet expecting fares.

PC - NZXT H510 Elite, Ryzen 5600, 16GB DDR3200 2x8GB, EVGA 3070 FTW3 Ultra, Asus VG278HQ 165hz,

Mac - 1.4ghz i5, 4GB DDR3 1600mhz, Intel HD 5000.  x2

Endlessly wishing for a BBQ in space.

Apple won't answer. What I have followed pretty much same as in this thread has happened everywhere, the real topic has been killed by Apple fans coming and claiming that "Apple is the best and the most innovative, they can do what they please" and then the rest of the discussion is about virtual peeps. Apple don't need to answer anything as long as the most voiced discussion isn't about is it ok for AASP to straight out lie to a customer about repairs (even Apple fanatics have confirmed that the parts are available, in small amounts, and the repairing licenses are out there) and is it OK for Apple to refuse to repair. Also they probably have even bigger problem with the iPhone 8 screen repairs that they try to "fan out".
