Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

You know that's FWD with a wimpy automatic, right? You better invest in tires, LCA's and transmission rebuilds cause those cars just burn through those three things.

Why did so many GM cars have (or still have?) transmission issues?

Oh I know it's front-wheel drive. That's about half of why I want it.

Also, have heard that the Grand Prix GXP does go through transmissions. My selection of cars is always bouncing around and while I'd like to own one, I'm leaning towards a 90s compact wagon, hatchback or SUV.

Paseo with a turbo swap, if you want weird. 4E-FTE FTW.

Because gluing a 4-speed to a modern V8 is never a good idea.

Basically, because GM.

Roughly the same reason that Ford did/does? Take RWD trans, turn sideways with a bigass chain, shrink components to fit into a smaller FWD package, then steadily increase engine output without making the trans any stronger.

Yeah, I'm not spending months trying to scout for a Paseo here in Alabama. I dig them but they are NOT worth my time to find one.

Meanwhile I'm sitting here having a really hard time selling my Paseo, even when it has an engine with only 40k miles on it. The exterior is in pretty good condition too.

Do my tires look really worn? I feel like they are, but only 23000 miles on car

Also this line though the middle of the tread, not sure if it's an issue

Then the other side of car is worn a ton on the inside of the tire only

Back tires look fine, only front which is weird...

alignment issues, maybe the car is lowered to much, so you have the toe in... since it is grinding a lot of on the inner side of the tire..

the tires however ARE done, these are not road worthy

Weird, I wonder why. Just bought last year with 8000 miles on from old lady, then I put it up to 23000 miles, seems early for tires to be this worn...

Especially for just stock car, nothing changed at all...

I don't think it's alignment issues, it's more like under inflation.

Have you being pumping them up to the correct pressures?

I have not put any air in the tires at all, but no light is on. Maybe I should check pressure...

You should be putting air into the tires regularly, it looks like you've had them under inflated for a while.

I'd say around 2400, but the price is flexible. Tires have just over 1k miles on them and the coolant was flushed and replaced 2 years ago.
