Xbox or PlayStation and why?

I've been fighting with my friends about this for a while but, I like Xbox. PlayStation is good and all but I like Xbox more for some reason. What do you think?

Xbox is pointless since most of it's exclusives are now on PC due to Play Anywhere.

PS4 still is tempting to buy for most people because of it's exclusives.

I like xbox, I like ps4. But the only reason I prefer ps4 is because rocket league is more supported than it is on xbox.

Both consoles are not bad.  Everyone will prefer one or the other or even have both.  Just comes down to personal preferences.

 

In my case for the consoles I have:

Xbox One S: glorified 4K HDR player and video streamer.

PS4 Pro: Exclusives

Switch:  Portability gaming and exclusives

Playstation 4, because you can change the HDD easily.

When the HDD inside the XBox dies, you have a problem.
With the PS4 only your savegames and screenshots are gone...

Can't you back your savegames up to cloud storage? Or is that only for Pro members?

It really depends on the exclusives you want to play. Personally I'm a ps4 guy as I haven't had good experiences with xbox and the consoles. I don't really like the xbox one because using it just feels sluggish and cluttered while on ps4 it seems cleaner and more organized. But again, its a personal choice and it depends o the games you like or want to play

No, only if you have PS Plus.

 

_BUT_ you can easily back it up to an external USB device. The Playstation 4 has a 'backup' option in the System Settings. And you can also copy every savegame over to a USB drive as well.

So its not that big of a deal, if you want to keep the savegames and do backups regularly.

PS Plus and Xbox Live are the same in this regard. You need to have an active membership for cloud saves, but a USB can be used for backups.

However on the flipside, if the PS4 dies but not the HDD, the HDD's contents are probably useless anyway if Sony did the same thing on the PS4 as the PS3... as in they locked down the hard drive to the console itself.

Same for Xbox, but I think FAT32(?) is still supported.

External HDDs are USB drives....

 

This "external storage device" is setup in your PS4, it formats the external HDD and you can use that for Games.

However, modern external drives aren't formatted in the FAT32 format (and you must not do that!) so you don't usually use them for the PS4, because it doesn't support NTFS...
