G502 Too Heavy For Gaming?

So I have narrowed down my mice choices to the G502, G403, and Rival 300. The G502 was a frontrunner for me due to the extra buttons, styling, and scroll wheel but its much heavier than the other two mice. Everything I've read tells me lighter mice are better for FPS and gaming overall. Although I do play FPS games, I play many others as well. On top of gaming I do some photo and video work.

 

G502 owners, what do you think? Everyones input is greatly appreciated!

i think its great, very happy with it. Dont see how it could be too heavy, it has removable weights.

i have all the weights added to mine, and it feels medium but on the lighter side for me.

What DPI do you play at? From what I heard its kind of a tradeoff. Light mice=Lower DPI where alternatively Heavy mice=Higher DPI

The weight is all down to your personal preference... what might be too light for some will be too light for others. But it's got weights, so you can adjust the heaviness.

I have it at 2000 right now but I started at 1600 and am thinking about 2400. I've also been considering pushing it really high, though.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot to base it off of. Thats why I'm thinking maybe the G403 because it falls in the middle. Or maybe ill just pick whichever is cheapest between the 502 and 403 when I decide to purchase.

I myself had g502 for about 1.5 years and it was fine, You can reduce the weight by removing the extra weights from it, but still i found it a bit heavy and the thing that i didnt like about it is the shape and size, i myself have BIG hands -> operating 6inch phone in one hand is not a problem, typing or anything but as for a mouse i would recommend the G502 only for someone who is playing with the palmgrip otherwise its very uncomfortable. 
Nowdays i am using sensei wireless (same as sensei but wireless duuuh) and i have NEVER ever felt or helt beter shaped mouse like that, especially for FPS, it has cons when it comes to features, f.e. the scrollwheel on g502 is just orgasmic! 
Bottom line, when u are playing a LOT of FPS games and u are using palmgrip go for the g502 but when u are more of a clawgrip guy or the one between those two i would recommend going for rival 300 or finding a completely new sensei wireless for 90$ (its possible trust me, there is a lot of them, i myself found just now few posts that will send it to you from MANUFACTURER sealed BRAND NEW for 90$) or sensei  for 60$.

Do you think some of those personal preference problems you mention about the 502 could be solved with the 403? I'm kind of leaning towards picking up the G403 now.

I've been using one for a little under 2 years, the weight does not bother me at all. If my current one breaks down, I'll just buy another. (Which I'm secretly hoping it does so I would have an excuse to get the RGB version.)

Shapewise i think absolutely, just make sure that the lack editable buttons wont bother u. Other than that i cant really say since i havent used it ever :-/ sorry

Its okay! I think I'm going to start with the G403 because it kind of falls in the middle when it comes to weight. I really only NEED the two thumb buttons as of right now. If I need more ill pick up the G502 down the road. Thanks again for the reply's.

I love mine. Admittedly, its a bit heavy for FPS games, but it is one of the best mice I've ever used. Plus, there are optional weights that you don't need to use, so it really isn't that heavy at all.

Warranty dude. Logitech will just send you a new one if'n it does break. 99% chance it'll be the RGB version, since it's been out for some time now.

Warranty is limited to 2 years AFAIK. I think I was mistaken in my earlier post, it's probably been 2 years by now.
