Its $100, but should have a nice bass thump. I could just get the $30 ones though, and my parents would probs like that better. If the bass was too loud (I love to listen to rap with awesome bass lines), I'd have to turn it down, which would defeat the point of having the more powerful speaker set.

Yeah, but I don't have headphones (except a pair of UrBeats, which muffle everything except my music), and I like listening to music without anything on/in my ears. So if a sounds system costs the same as a pair of nice headphones, and probs has more bass/fuller sounds, I'd rather get that.

Should be decent. Logitech makes really good stuff. My dad has a high end Logitech set he picked up at a garage sale for $40. It has a gaming laptop sized heatsink on the sub, and the bass is powerful enough to shake the house. My mom hates it.

Check your local classifieds to see if anyone's getting rid of an old set. Often they go cheap because they lost a remote or something.

Yes I know, but that's not the point. There are also cheaper options to that, if one's in the market for a GSync monitor.

I'm saying it's basically the same tech but with freesync but it took them 2 years to get it on the red side.

I'm getting a single 27" 16:9 (basically the monitor in post) and uh... totally not overkill but 2x 21:9 34" 1440p IPS curved panels... and if I am feeling good maybe one day a 40-50" 4k TV for netflix and shit. 

I won't be buying all this at once. I'll likely either get one of the monitors when I find one on sale and either a 1080 or RX Vega or maybe a used 1080Ti?? Or if there is a deal I just can't pass up on an ultrawide

I will. Hopefully I can find a decent 980 Ti and wiggle the price down as well.

Very cool and quite cheap considering what it offers. If it delivers it will be on my short list of monitors to recommend.

There are many cheap speakers (and especially headphones if you don't mind wearing those) that will sound way better than built in speakers. It's worth considering, decent sound can make a positive impact on the whole experience.

From the pictures it really seems to be matte to me, but I could be wrong. If it is matte the only "problem" with that bezel is that it's huge, it could be a turnoff for some people.

I know, but is it IPS panel? and you can only get 60hz max at 4K.

 

Once you go 144hz, there's no going back.

 

For me I have both, LG 27UD58 IPS 4K panel (bought for $400 CAD) and Acer XG270HU 1440p 144hz (bought for $540 CAD) and the difference in refresh rate is black and white

Hmm, theres AOC AG241QX that is 1440p 30-144Hz Freesync range.

 

But anyway, I'd like a 24" 1440p 144Hz Freesync 2 though. 27" is too big.

How do you find having two monitors of different resolutions? I've only ever had matching. Do you find any issues when moving a window from one to the other?

Then again, if you include the TV I have in my living room I guess I have 2 24", the 13.3" laptop and a 50" TV.

Why two ultrawides?

The more I think about it, the more I think I'll be going with the 2 27" screens. Easier to run games on.
