The top board is EATX.  Something like that is what I would have expected for the price of the ASUS Crosshair VI Hero or MSI X370 XPower Gaming Titanium.  (Shouldn't the AMD discount mentioned below make that possible?)

Okay so maybe the 2nd idea might not quite make it under $600 ... although... if you could get the AMD discount, maybe?  (For example, AMD discount = how much in % the R7-1700 is lower than the i7-6900K, or about 70% cheaper.  So, if the Intel equivalent board would be like $2000, then should the AMD board be $600?)

Also it'd be nice to fit all that (on the bottom board) in a smaller space, so it'd fit in a normal tower case.  One idea I had was maybe putting the DIMM slots (as SO-DIMM) and M.2 slots on the back side of the board, and maybe also the chipset and a few other low-profile things.  Also you'd need a case with cutouts to access them from the back side.

Maybe I got lucky, but I purchased the acer predator xb271hu which uses the same panel and had 0 issues with it. Asus on the other hand I went as far as using different vendors and calling to check the manufacturing date only to get backlight bleed.

Is it a price effective buy? Nope, but who cares... as part of a 6-7000$ computer/desk build, it was less than 10% of the total I will also say that it's damn heavy lol, but that water block is just plain solid!
