Number of users that are "online now" on LTT feature

Any possibilities to bring this feature back in at the bottom of the page? i know tagging the users like we did previously was hard to implement due to site crashing  , but is it possible to  have a window with active online members shown in numbers? or does it have its own serious cons in sites performance?

Edit:

PS:  an active live counter would look cool doe

Details separate people.

It would look cool but there'd be no use if its effects the sites performance.

I would like having statistics at bottom. Online now, most of all time, total members and maybe added post stats too.

A number/statistics would be nice.

I know the list was removed due to loading time being doubled, but would a link to another page with only info of current online member provide global issues as well? I know people have requested it.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I'm more interested about newest mods. They are promoted like ninjas.

Well, they do work from the shadows.

I didn't even know they removed this, but I think it would still be nice to bring it back

I have a page where it sorted by mods only so I can know if this page is going to get moderated/response to reports or something since I stay up late at night

maybe not becuse

a. it takes up resources that could be used for showing the community cat videos

b. be hard to implment

c. might not be useful to most users of the fourms, if it's not going to be used a lot or at all, why implement it?

a) this is correct.

b) used to (and still does) exist. see above.

c) useful? it isn't to most people, but it already exists and is already implemented as part of IPBoards (I think that's what LTT uses...)

The problem with it though is that it significantly impacts load time for the page where its displayed ATM, so long as I'm not recalling that information incorrectly. I don't see why though couldn't just have a separate page for that info, but then again its such a niche issue that the few people who would benefit from it doesn't exactly outweigh the developers time to design such a page (And with FPC now that time is only just more valuable.)

There is a dedicated page for it, accessible from the nav under more->Online Users.
