R9-290X Benchmarks!

M-ursu
Fastest GPU On the Planet With 1020 MHz Clock Speed

post-2255-0-90396000-1379846415.jpgpost-2255-0-67347400-1379845541.jpg

The Hawaii R9-290X GPU will be launched on this Wednesday in Hawaii. We have heard some details about the Hawaii R9-290X GPU that it will feature a die size larger than Tahiti still 30% smaller than NVIDIA’s GK110 core. It will be based on a 28nm process and would be in stores mid-October 2013.

Now we officially know more than that, the R9-290X features a massive die size and a 4 GB memory running across a 512-bit interface. The core clock for the graphics card at default is maintained at 1020 MHz while the memory operates at 1250 MHz. While we would get 4 GB in the reference models, the leaker has also said that we will see 6 GB custom models soon after launch.

The R9-290X is powered by 8-Pin plus 6-Pin connector configurations which denotes a 300W TDP design. The VRM features 5+1 phase design (5 Phase Core and 1 Phase memory). The card has two DVI, HDMI and a display port to provide display output.

Rumor price is 599USD which is 443€

I remember seeing somewhere that they were only going to just go over the 7970's launch price, which was $550 I think, So I'ld say $600 tops

Rumor price is 599 USD

the titan is also 1000 usd because there simply was no real competition at all. I bet we will see price drops on the green side as soon as this is available.

That would be great! But i would still het a 780 if i would have to buy a GPU except when the R9-290X is cheaper

Seems quite good however I would like to know why the Titan beats the AMD card in nearly all the benchmarks but not in the games. Also we will need to see the results that we get in newer games that are coming out that should be more demanding. As benchmarks are more demanding I am going to guess that the 780 and Titan are still more powerful for games that demand more horsepower. I could be wrong though.

I would assume it would be priced a little lower than the 780. Somewhere around $700-800.

I think MSY would have it for $699 (for the rush) then within the first 2 weeks, bring it to $649 as it should be...

PCCG, I'd expect the same pricing, but more variety.

Is design gonna help run your games better? No, so why does it matter.

Because instead of playing his games,.. he will 99% load his card..and just STARE through his sidepanel window at his GPU.... Like we all do :)

Okay if these are true. I'm selling my 780, buying this card in time for BF4 and putting it in my Hadron Air. October is going to be AWESOME!

$600-$700 for a GPU thats more powerfull them a Titan. It's a no brainer to buy a R9-290x. Maybe this card will run Star Citizen above 30fps lol. Hear Titan having trouble with the hanger module.  Just the naming for AMD's new cards are something to get use to lol
